This year's Hilltop Halloween parade will take place at 10:00 am on 10/31. Student should come to school in their costume. More information will be shared next week.

When reporting a student absent please state the reason for the absence.

Volunteer Training will be on 10/18 at 9:30 in the cafeteria

The purpose of the Mendham Borough School District Chain of Command is to clarify and simplify the process for contacting the school about a specific concern or matter. Please use the chart below as a guide for determining who should be the primary contact based on the nature of the matter/concerns. One should always start with the individual or office responsible for the area at Level 1 before proceeding up the chain of command as it becomes necessary.

Congratulations to Mrs. Kanefke who received the Order of the Lion award for her positivity in leading students in a new school year and her commitment to the vision of Mendham Borough School District. Mrs. Kanefke was presented with a certificate from Dr. Morillo and will house our District Lion in her classroom for the month!

How Can You Learn Together at Home?

Vocabulary plays a key role in the reading process and is critical to reading comprehension. Children learn the meanings of most words indirectly, through everyday experiences with oral and written language. Other words are learned through carefully designed instruction.

While reading with your child this weekend, and you come across a word that your child has never heard before try the following steps…

1. Pronounce the word correctly.

2. Reread the sentence with that vocabulary word, with a word or phrase that your child would understand.

3. Have your child pronounce the word.

4. Ask them if they can think of an experience or time in their life that they can connect to the word.
