1. Mascoutah School District is having a Teacher In-Service Day - They have no school; we will have school but without any AM or PM Busses

2. The end of the 1st Quarter is next Friday, October 11. Please continue to check your child's progress through FACTs. With that being said....

Next week, we will have information for you regarding Parent/Teacher Conferences which will be held on Wednesday, October 23 and Thursday, October 24.

~Desserts are needed for the HCS Dinner “Sweet Tooth” Booth

~Donations will be accepted in the HCS Cafeteria Friday, Oct 18th (4:00-6:00 pm) & Saturday, Oct 19th (8:00 am to 11:00 am)

Any sweet treat donation will be greatly appreciated!!

Homemade Pies, Cookies, Candies, Buckeyes, Cakes, Pastries, and Brownies are always popular (No refrigerated items please)

5th Grader Callie Spears recently participated at the Children’s Entrepreneur Market.

The purpose of the program is for children to have the opportunity to create a product, come up with a business plan (accounting, too!) and finally, bring the product to market. Parents were required to sit in the tent, but were not allowed to help answer questions or run transactions for the child.

Callie learned how to hook customers in and got the experience of pitching her product to people of all age groups. She is excited to say that people are reaching out to her to order more product! She created play dough sensory jars. Great job, Callie!!

1. We will be conducting a fire drill on Monday, October 7 in collaboration with the Mascoutah FD.

2. On Thursday, October 10...our Kindergarten class will be taking a field trip to the Firehouse while the 1st grade will have the Firetrucks visit HCS where they will be letting the kids spray the fire hose!

It was mentioned above, but I want to repeat: There will be no AM or PM buses on Friday, October 11. Please put on your calendars Thursday, October 24 as well: Mascoutah School District has no school, and therefore, no buses that day.

October is a crazy month like this.

Bishop McGovern has been visiting all of the schools in the Diocese of Belleville in the last two years. This year, Holy Childhood is on the list. He will be visiting us on Friday, October 11. A few things to note:

1. We have Mass on Tuesday and FRIDAY morning. NO THURSDAY MORNING MASS.

2. He will be celebrating Mass with us, visiting some classrooms and having lunch with our students.
