Bienvenidos ~ Welcome
September 9, 2024
Dear Riverview Families,
I hope you had a wonderful and exciting 1st week of school. I am so delighted that you are part of our amazing learning community here at Riverview. I welcome and value your positive energy and dedication to excellence in bilingual education, and I look forward to working with all our students.
Now that we had a week to explore and practice how to drop off and pickup students at the end of the day, we need your help tightening up those systems! Please remember:
- In the AM, drop your students off on Isabel St., our staff will help and guide them towards the cafeteria.
- In the PM, only Prek-and Kinder start dismissal at 3:50, students from 1-5 start dismissal at 3:55 until 4:10
- Enter Isabel from Robert St, DO NOT enter the pickup line from the bus line (Greenwood)
- If you need to make changes or need to clarify, please call Ms. Angelica in the office 651-293-8665 Before 3:30pm
- We live on a residential area, when you are in line, remember to not block our neighbors driveways
Thank you for all your help, this will help with our systems in ensuring that all students are going home safely!
🥳 Last but not least, this Friday, I will be acknowledging and celebrating August and September birthdays 🥳
Sincerely,
Ms. Stivaliss

Reminders ~ Recordatorios
School districts must notify parents of children attending Title I schools that they can request information regarding their children's teachers, including, at a minimum, information on (1) completion of state requirements for licensure and certification; (2) emergency or other provisional status; (3) educational background; and (4) whether paraprofessionals are serving the child and, if so, the paraprofessionals' qualifications.
EDL Before School Program/Programa de Antes de Escuela
Extended Day Learning (Before School Programming): Our EDL program is scheduled to run Monday through Thursdays from 7:50 AM to 9:15AM, starting October 21st. Due to district wide budget cuts, transportation is not available, so you need to provide your own transportation. In order for Riverview to be able to open EDL we must have at least 25 students in each class AND attending each day. As of right now, here are the classes we are planning to have:
- GTCYS (Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphonies) 2nd-5th
- Lego League 3rd-5th
- Project Scientist- Open to all grades
Unfortunately we do not have programing for Pre-K.
We are hopeful to recruit some staff to offer some classes AND we are always interested in what our students want. As we learn more, I will communicate this out to everyone!
Nutrition
Students will be provided at no cost breakfast, lunch and snacks! In order to comply with the new regulations, we need to provide healthy snacks at school.
Students can:
- Eat school lunch at no cost
- Bring their own lunch
- Students ARE NOT allowed to share food during lunch time. This is to continue an effort in stopping the spreading of germs and we have several students with allergies. While students have good intentions of sharing, we have to be aware of food sensitivities and allergic reactions.
Uniforms
In collaboration with the Assistance Leagues of Mpls/St Paul, once again we have Uniforms for our students!
All students that attended Open House, should have received two pairs of pants and two polo shirts. For those families that were not able to attend our event, we have been providing uniforms to students as they approach the office.
If by the last week of September you have not received your uniforms, on Tuesday September 24 and Wednesday September 25, we will have another opportunity for you to come and get the uniforms from 2:00pm-3:30pm.
Other uniforms options at low cost: (If needing more than what Assistance League provided)
