Tumuaki Korero
Kia ora e te whānau,
"Kia kaha te reo Māori, āke āke āke - a forever language."
This week is Te Wiki o te Reo Māori, Māori Language Week. At Spring Creek School we value the official languages of Aotearoa and as a teaching team, we are undergoing professional learning to upskill in our knowledge of te reo and understanding of tikanga. Te reo is spoken on a daily basis, in greetings, commands, praise and acknowledgements.
As a team, we are currently working out ways that we can fundraise for our amazing kura. As a small school with limited funding, we are committed to providing an inclusive and nurturing educational environment. At Spring Creek School, we embrace a positive, strengths-based approach to learning, with small class sizes and a strong focus on Te Taiao—learning in harmony with the surrounding environment.
Our mission is to nurture the unique strengths and talents of each child, ensuring they have the opportunity to flourish. We place particular emphasis on supporting students with diverse needs, including learning, social, and neurodiverse challenges. Our aim is to continue to create a space where every student feels confident, capable, and empowered to reach their full potential. But to do this, we need your support, information will be coming out early next week with some exciting initiatives we have to fundraise. If you would like to help us in any way with fundraising, please pop in and see me. I’d love to catch up for a korero with you.
Next Wednesday we would love to see our whānau and friends at our open afternoon. We would love you to join us for kai and then let our tamariki share their learning and classroom experiences with you. This will be very informal and siblings are more than welcome too. We hope to see you all then.
We are lucky enough to be able to host a forest school holiday programme these holidays. A number of our children have already registered. If you would like to register your child or find out more information, please follow this link The Wildering Nook.
We have so many exciting things happening in our learning spaces and also in te taiao. It is so rewarding to see the children grow in confidence and their abilities, especially feeling brave enough to take risks with their learning. It is also very special to see the tamariki demonstrate our school values as well as kindness and empathy, on a daily basis. At Spring Creek School we are kind and caring, we use kind hands and kind feet
.
Have a lovely restful weekend.
Me mahi tahi tātau mō te oranga o te katoa.
Working together for all to succeed, nobody is left behind.
Ngā manaakitanga,
