FFA students were able to attend the State Legislative Leadership Conference for three days where they were able to learn about how parliamentary procedure works, bills are passed and laws are made. Four of our very own Red Lion Area FFA students spent Sunday, Monday and Tuesday learning about all of these things successfully working together and networking with other FFA chapters and even some senators and House of Representatives!
After their successes at the conference they were able to tour the capitol! A great few days of learning and growing as young leaders!

Pawsitive Pal
Today’s Pawsitive Pal is Mr. Steve Schmehl. Mr. Schmehl is a history teacher here in the school and is also the coach for the basketball team. He is an advocate for the student athlete, making sure that his athletes are students first, great members of our community, and just good people. He is a positive role model to our students, a great team member of the social studies department, and is always willing to help wherever he is needed. Not to mention, he led his team to the second round of the state championships! Thanks for being a great educator and influence on our school, Mr. Schmehl!

Red Lion Area Senior High School juniors will be participating in the Junior Achievement “Real Life” Summit April 9th and 10th to help promote Financial Literacy Month in our School District! “Real Life” is a day-long program that promotes financial literacy and career-readiness. Students will participate in budgeting activities that will help the students gain an appreciation for the importance of their financial decisions they make as young adults. They will also spend part of their day focusing on career-readiness, including interview skills and creating their own brand!
All juniors will participate in one of the two days the Summit is held, and the summit will run from periods 2 through 7. All juniors should report to their regularly scheduled classes during periods 1 and 8. Juniors will be expected to participate in “Real Life” during periods 2 through 7 on their assigned day, regardless of late arrival and/or early release.
Homeroom teachers will be giving all juniors their group name and color during the first week of April. Students should take a picture of their teacher and group they will be working with.
Students must be found to be academically eligible to participate as of Thursday April 4. Students failing two or more classes or owing disciplinary action will be sent to classes and not permitted to participate.
For any questions about “Real Life” please contact Mrs. Cleary in B101 or Mrs. Scott in the Career Center. We look forward to seeing all juniors on April 9th and 10th for “Real Life”!

The Senior High has PRIDE!
The P.R.I.D.E. Program is a character education framework which teaches and instills the virtues of being Personable, being Respectful, having Integrity, being Dependable, and being Engaged in both the school and community.
At the Senior High, not only are staff able to recognize student achievements; but also our students may recognize the good in other students or staff members. Through our online form, we are able to promote the good throughout our school and show each other the PRIDE the Senior High brings each day. The form can be accessed at: http://tinyurl.com/priderecognition or by using the QR code below.
