School Updates 🏫
Spotlights
100 days of school
We reached 100 days of school on Friday, January 24 (and 1000 days for our 5th graders!) There were many fun activities. 2nd grade held their annual "dress like you're 100" day. Pictured here is Ms. Baham's very old 2nd grade class.
EIS
Our 4th and 5th graders have been attending weekly field trips to the Elementary Institute of Science since we started the new year. Here are Milette and Jeremy as they explore concepts of gases.
Awards
UTK Awards
K/1 Awards
4/5 Awards
2/3 Awards
Our 2nd and 3rd graders have been working hard and growing tremendously in their reading and math! Pictured here are Ms. Hedgren's awardees.
Family Friday
We held our first Family Friday of the year on 1/31. Our first graders performed a song! Below are some pictures from Ms. Shields, Ms. Hedgren, and Ms. Masters on Family Friday.
Leader in Me Updates
New Year... New Goals
Our 40 Lighthouse leaders in 4th/5th grade are creating new goals for the team in the new year! They kicked off the year with giving input on what they see as strengths in themselves and at our school, and they have selected new committees. They've begun to undertake leadership projects that are important to them at our school.
Shoutout to the students on:
- Welcome Team, who will be welcoming new students and mentoring some of our 3rd grade Lighthouse soon-to-be applicants,
- Communications Team, for making announcements for the Lunar New Year and Black History Month,
- Green Team, for helping all of our students show proactivity in taking care of our school!
Pictured here is one of our reflective meeting stations. We asked several questions to the students about how they perceive our school and their development as leaders.
