Principals Message
Mr. Krause and I want to wish each and every family a very Happy Thanksgiving. During this time of year, we are often reminded of the treasures we share from deep in the sea to right here on land! We see kindess and love in our community that is as vibrat as the coral reef! Our school family thrives when we come together supporting one another and spreading joy across the ocean! We are so thankful for each of you, especially our shining "school of fish"!
May your Thanksgiving be filled with laughter, love and memories as deep as the ocean blue! From all of us at Spring Trail, thank you for being a part of our extraordinary undersea adventure this year!
What's Happening in School?
Mr. Krause and I want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the families who participated in our Giving Gobbler Donation Drive. Thanks to your generosity, we were able to donate 241 items to the Hanover Township Food Pantry!
During a recent meeting at Hanover Township Hall, I learned that the food pantry was running low on essential items like toiletries. This inspired me to take action, and I’m so grateful we had the chance to come together and support those in need.
We plan to continue organizing initiatives like this throughout the school year because giving back is a wonderful way to teach our students the value of kindness and charity. Thank you for making a difference in our community!
Benchmark Testing through iReady
When we return from Thanksgiving Break, Kindergarten classrooms will be wrapping up our iReady testing. Listed below is the schedule for testing. Please reach out to your classroom teacher with any questions you may have.
December 2, 4th, and 5th:
Kindergarten (Liner): 9:00 - 9:30
Kindergarten (Price): 9:30-10:00
Kindergarten (Asta): 10:00 - 10:30
Benchmark Testing Results
Our school staff will be reviewing the benchmark testing and determining how we will be sharing this information with families. We appreciate your patience as we navigate our new assessment measure.
School Calendar and Vacations
Lately, the school has been receiving an increasing number of calls informing us that families are planning vacations during the school year. While I truly value the importance of quality family time, I encourage you to carefully consider how these absences may affect your child academically and socially. The curriculum pacing continues uninterrupted, even during extended absences, and studying or reviewing materials on vacation cannot replace the value of in-person instruction.
To support your child's success, I kindly ask that you review the school calendar before planning any trips. Whenever possible, please schedule vacations during school breaks. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
Break down of Attendance Percentages:
Green (positive attendance) = 95% +
Yellow (borderline chronic) = 90% - 94.9%
Red (chronically absent) = Below 90%
Overall School Percentage: 95.8% (down .3%)
Kindergarten: 95.7% (down .2%)
First Grade: 94.7% (down .7%)
Second Grade: 96.1% (down .3%)
Third Grade: 95.9% (down .3%)
Fourth Grade: 96.6% (down .3%)
Fifth Grade: 95.5% (down .3%)
Sixth Grade: 96.4% (remains stable)
Attendance Incentive
Our Squishmallow Attendance Challenge is coming to an end! We have until December 18th to earn a few more PAWS for positive attendance! Keep showing up at school and on time to win YOURSELF a squishy new friend!!!
Here’s how it works:
- Students who attend school for a full week will earn a PAW raffle ticket each week.
- These tickets will go into a grade-level bin, giving kiddos up to seven chances to win big!
On December 18th, Mr. Krause and Mrs. Dupuis will draw EIGHT lucky winners to take home an adorable Squishmallow!
Let’s make sure your child is present, engaged, and ready to learn at Spring Trail every day. The more they’re here, the more chances they have to win. Who knows? A Squishmallow might be coming home with them!

To Mrs. Baughman from Mr. and Mrs. Moran:
We wanted to express our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for Ms Baughman, who has made an incredible impact on Jackson and us as parents. She exemplifies what is means to be an outstanding educator. She consistently goes above and beyond and makes a point to truly understand each child and how they learn best; while also communicating with parents. When I learned Jackson would be in Ms Baughman's class we heard so much positive feedback from our neighbors and community and we have had the opportunity to see this for ourselves this past school year and could not be more pleased. Through Ms Baughman's dedication, Jacksons academic performance has improved and he has developed a genuine love of learning. It is clear Ms Baughman is deeply committed to the success and well-being of her students and for that we are forever grateful.
To Mrs. Fels from Mrs. Khan:
Ms. Fels is a great teacher. She has motivated my son to come to school everyday. Ms.Fels has also been great about responding to my son's emails after school, when he has a question about the homework assignment. Thank you for all you do Ms. Fels!
To Nurse Andi from Mrs. Ciaglo:
Nurse Andi is always taking such good care of us! When we don’t feel well, when we need a bandaid or an ice pack. She makes us feel safe and better.

She is always welcoming students, encourages their personal and educational development daily. She listens carefully, and does whatever she can to support a student in need. She is simply the best!
