“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew 6:34.
Dear HFRCS Families,
May has been an interesting month when it comes to weather. It has been just about every season so far in the past 15 days. Hopefully we actually get spring before June arrives! Even
We have had a lot of different events and activities since our last activity. There was a 7th & 8th grade dance, First Holy Communion for our St. Joe’s and St. John Fisher’s 2nd graders, HSA Party for grades 4-6, the International Club’s Showcase, we had our first May Rosary with Monsignor Bransfield, 8th grade had special lunches on the two Wednesdays as they near graduation, grades 1-3 visited the Adventure Aquarium, and 8th grade had their Hershey Park trip as well. Not to mention it was Teacher Appreciation Week and National School Nurse Appreciation Day! Whew!!!!!
We definitely have to thank HSA and all of you, our families, for everything you did for our teachers last week. The teacher lounge was decorated and stocked with goodies, lunch was provided on Tuesday, they received flowers, and all of the wonderful shoutouts they received on Facebook. And Ms. D, Ms. Weidle, Ms. Kelleher, and Ms. Troxel won the raffles from those shoutouts!
The next week and a half is just as busy! We have our Spring Band Concert tonight at 6:00pm in Degnan Hall, the 4th-8th grade field trip to the Philly Zoo on Friday, Monsignor Bransfield’s 30th Anniversary Mass this Sunday at 9:30am at St. Joe’s Church, we will pray the rosary with Father Otto on Tuesday at 9:30am in St. Joe’s Church, the 8th Grade & PreK Picnic is Thursday and then Memorial Day Week arrives. After the long week, it’s time for final exams! Where did the time go this year???
We have some important announcements and updates below, so please make sure you take the time to read everything. Just another reminder that students can work on their i-Ready My Paths at home. This is a great opportunity for them to receive some extra instruction that is catered to their “glows” & “grows.” I am always happy to meet with any families who would like to discuss their child’s progress with the program. The third and final diagnostic for both reading and math will be completed next week.
As always, thank you for your support and dedication to Holy Family and catholic education. Our school would not be what it is without you, our amazing families.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Thank you,
Mr. Elia
Field Day
Field Day was a huge success! What a great job Mr. Hochman, Ms. Webber, and Ms. Porcellini did with organizing it and a huge thank you to all the families who came out to volunteer at the stations. The students had a blast!
Also, we had our annual 8th grade water balloon toss in the afternoon. The students choose a staff member and they see who can throw the water balloon back and forth the longest. This year Hailey L and Ms. Kelleher were the winners. The 7th graders already began scouting who they will choose next year!
St. Joe’s CYO Sports
Big congrats to the St. Joe's Track and Field. These athletes went above and beyond finishing in the top 8 of their event at the Regional meet securing a spot at the Areas Championship this Sunday. Outstanding job to these athletes!! Also, a big shoutout to the coaches including Ms. Vivas!

HSA
As we approach the end of the year, I have to recognize our HSA, Ms. Cacciatore (President), Ms. Waters (Vice President), and Ms. Peterson (Secretary) for all of their hard work and dedication to the school, students, teachers, and families. They help make our school a better place by organizing fun events, fundraisers, and volunteering so much time and effort. We greatly appreciate all you do!
Fundraising Fee
Each school year, every family is asked to fundraise $200 over the course of the school year through the Jumbo Jackpot Spirit Stroll fundraisers.
If the $200 in fundraising threshold has not been met, families are charged a fundraising fee for the difference between $200 and the amount raised. This fee has been added to your FACTS account dated May 1, 2024, with a due date of 5/15/2024.
If you have any questions regarding the fee, please contact Kristy Cobb, Business Manager at kcobb@holyfamilyaston.org.

Reminders about Re-Enrollment:
Holy Family Regional Catholic School is now utilizing a "Continuous Enrollment" concept for students enrolled in our school. Continuous Enrollment assumes that once enrolled, a child will continue their education at Holy Family until graduation from eighth grade. Since most of our families remain year after year, this streamlines the enrollment process by reducing time and paperwork for parents and the school staff.
What do I need to do?
- Log Into your FACTS Family Portal - www.factsmgt.com
- From the menu on the left side of the screen, Choose Apply/Enroll, and then Enrollment/Reenrollment

Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) Tax Program
We were so lucky to have Kevin Kelly from the Foundation for Catholic Education present at our Back to School night about the EITC Program. This is an opportunity for individuals like you to send PA State Income Tax money directly to our school instead of Harrisburg. If you have the completed commitment form, please send it directly to Kevin Kelly (kkelly@foundationfce.org). The link for the form is below and a copy of the form is also attached to the dojo post.
COVID 19 Policy Update
At Holy Family, our number one priority will always be the safety of our students, staff, and families. After careful consideration and speaking with the archdiocese, we are moving forward with updating our COVID Policy. As of today, 3/15/24, our COVID policy is included with other respiratory illness procedures. They are as follows:
The person cannot return to Holy Family until he/she is fever free, without the use of fever-reducing medications, and their symptoms are improving overall.
Return dates and the enhanced precautions upon return would be determined and/or confirmed by our nurse.
