Tomorrow, on Veterans Day, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to the veterans in our community for their service and the invaluable mentorship they provide. We’re also incredibly proud of our NJROTC students, who have been honoring our veterans and representing Lubbock High with dedication and respect. Guided by their veteran instructors, they have been active in the community, giving presentations at Ramirez, Carmona-Harrison, and McCool, presenting colors at football games, and participating in Veterans Day parades. Thank you to all veterans for your service and commitment!

Congratulations to the LHS Speech and Debate team for their success from their bisy week. After returning from Fall Break, the team's congressional participants took 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th for the 5A/6A regional category. Grant McCall not only took 1st overall, but was also awarded as the "Outstanding Presiding Officer."

To follow this performance up, the freshman heavy S&D travel team placed third overall at the Bushland High School TFA Tournament!

Congratulations to Reese Pena and Carolina Hernandez-Acosta for being named to the Texas High School Coaches Association Academic All-State list for Cross Country! Their dedication on the team and in the classroom truly reflects Lubbock High’s commitment to excellence. We’re proud of these seniors!

Counselors will make a short visit to each Biology class the week of November 11th-15th.

These visits will cover an introduction to Graduation Plans, Endorsements and 9th Grade 101 information in preparation for Individual 4 Year Plans December 16-19.

Attention Students: If you wish to take Welding I (10-12), or Cosmetology I (11), in 2025-2026, you must complete an interest form for these courses. These interest forms can be found by following this LINK. Deadline: February 7 (If you complete an interest form, please let your counselor know so they can include this course request in your plan.)

• If you need recommendation letters, please request these from your recommenders at least two weeks prior to your deadline. If a counselor is your recommender, please submit a completed gold packet when you make the request.
