Dear PCK Families,
I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended the PTO-sponsored movie night this past Friday evening. Watching Migration together was an absolute delight, and it was truly wonderful to see our PCK families laughing, bonding, and enjoying each other's company.
A special thank you goes out to our amazing volunteers and to Melissa Prentice for her hard work and dedication in making the evening a success. Your efforts behind the scenes did not go unnoticed and were instrumental in creating such a memorable event for our community. I encourage each of you to reach out to the PTO, Foundation or SAC to learn more about volunteer opportunities so that you have the opportunity to be part of putting on these amazing community events.
As we celebrate PCK's 30th anniversary, events like this remind me of the strong, vibrant community that makes our school so special. Seeing so many of you come together to create such joyful memories was truly amazing.
Thank you for making the evening a success, and for continuing to make PCK a place where families and students thrive.
Warm regards,
Dr. Leanne Weyman
Director, PCK
As PCK enters into its 30th year, administration is committed to ensuring that the school continues to grow and thrive. To achieve this, it is essential to engage with our community in the process of strategic planning, where your insights and perspectives will play a valuable role in shaping the direction of PCK's next 30 years.
Volunteers on this committee will have the opportunity to collaborate with school leadership, faculty, and fellow community members to discuss a variety of topics. If you are interested in serving on this committee, more information about the role and time commitment can be found below. Together, we will make a lasting impact on PCK.
Returning this year is our School Directory app, DirectorySpot. The directory contains student names, grade levels, homeroom teachers with class lists, parent names, phone numbers, home address, and parent email addresses. The app is very secure and only parents and staff of PCK will be granted access. Each user will log on with their authorized email address and will set their password. If you would like more information on the security features, please use the button below.
All families that have opted out using the form provided at Express Check In have been opted out. If you would like to not have your family information included, please fill out the Opt Out form below. The data and users in the app can be updated at any time throughout the year, so you can always opt out or opt back in later.
The new directory is accessible on both iPhone and Android devices, and you will be able to call, text, or email other parents one click, right from the app.
As we continue to settle in for the 24-25 school year, we want to remind everyone of the importance of adhering to our school's carpool procedures. Ensuring a smooth and safe start and end to each school day is a priority for us all, and your cooperation plays a vital role in making that happen. To help keep our carpool process efficient and secure, we would like to highlight a few key reminders for all drivers:
- Carpool Lines for Multiple Students: Families with multiple students should always use the carpool line designated for their youngest child. Older students will join their younger siblings at the appropriate loop for drop-off and pick-up.
- Readiness for Drop-off and Pick-up: To keep traffic flowing smoothly, students and drivers should ensure that the student is ready to quickly exit or enter their vehicle upon reaching a designated stop. This helps to minimize delays and allows other drivers to navigate the process more efficiently.
- Safe Speeds in Carpool Loops: While we aim for a swift pick-up and drop-off process, safety remains our top priority. Please drive cautiously when entering and exiting your assigned loop to ensure the safety of all students, staff, and families.
- Arrival Time: Do not drop off your student before 7:35 a.m., as our staff is not prepared to begin carpool procedures before this time.
- Do Not Use Phones: Please refrain from using your mobile phone and offer your full attention to the road ahead, even when proceeding at a slower pace.
Additionally, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office has asked us to remind families of the following rules, which they will be enforcing due to recent traffic concerns:
- Turn Lane Obstructions: Do not obstruct traffic flow in turn lanes. If traffic is backed up into a turn lane, please loop around and wait until the congestion eases.
- Turn Lane Use: If you are in a turn lane, you must complete the turn. Do not continue straight and attempt to merge with parallel traffic.
Rest assured, every member of our staff is dedicated to ensuring the safety of our students and families throughout this procedure. We sincerely appreciate your understanding and cooperation in making the carpool process as smooth and safe as possible.
As we prepare for another exciting year, PCK is already looking forward to this year's 8th grade graduation. We are now inviting parents to submit their interest for joining the Graduation Committee.
If you have a passion for event planning or simply want to contribute to this special milestone, PCK encourages you to apply. Your creativity and commitment will help make this year's graduation an unforgettable moment for the students.

Last night, the Board of Directors convened for their first meeting set during the 24-25 school year. Several reports were given on the School's operations and Foundation. Here are a few of the topics which were discussed:
- The slides on the playground are scheduled to be re-molded by the end of next week, however they will be installed at PCK at a later date. The slides will have additional hardeners cast in them, which the manufacturer believes will solve the issue of the slides sagging.
- Locker plaques will be phased out. In place of the plaques, magnets will be placed on lockers instead.
- The Board passed a vote to approve a committee for the School Director's evaluation.
Official meeting agendas for the Board can be found on the PCK website prior to the start of the monthly meeting.
You're Invited to Meet the SAC
The Student Accountability Committee (SAC) warmly invites you to join them for an opportunity to engage with their team and learn more about the vital role they play within Parker Core Knowledge. This meet and greet will provide insight into the organization, its operations, and the dedicated individuals who drive SAC's mission.
SAC is actively seeking parents who bring fresh perspectives and a commitment to excellence. Your involvement will be instrumental in enriching their ongoing efforts to maintain PCK's standing as a premier educational institution.
The SAC serves an essential function by providing accountability in an advisory capacity. Their purpose is to inform, encourage, and create opportunities for parents or guardians to engage meaningfully with the school's performance and improvement plans. SAC meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 8:15 a.m.
The meet and greet will take place on August 29, at 8:15 a.m. in the school's conference room. Contact Blaise Singer via email at bsinger@ckcs.net with any questions prior.
