📅 Calendar Reminder: There is no school this Friday, March 29th (local holiday) and Spring Break is ahead with no school from Monday, April 1st - Friday, April 5th. Classes will resume on Monday, April 8th. We hope the whole Conejo community has a safe and wonderful break!

Middle and high school families are invited to an online Information Session on Tuesday, March 26th at 6:30pm to learn more about the AVID program for the 2024-2025 school year! AVID is a student-centered program designed to close the opportunity gap by preparing all students for college, career, and life. There will be an English language session and a Spanish language session. Families do not need to register in advance, but instead can join the Webinar via this link at 6:30pm on March 26th.

The stage is set at the Fred Kavli Theatre at the Bank of America Performing Arts Center, and our more than 3,600 scholar-musicians are ready to share their talents at the Conejo Schools Foundation All-District Music Festival. This special, ten night event kicks off on Monday, April 15th with Choir, Strings, and Band performance dates. Please click here to view the complete schedule of events.

The festival helps to inspire students to stay involved in music throughout their academic careers by introducing them to peers at their future middle and high schools and celebrates their commitment to participating in music programs.

Join the CVUSD Team: Now Hiring Speech and Language Pathologists!

We're hiring Speech and Language Pathologists. This important role provides assessments and services for students with speech and language disabilities in the areas of articulation, receptive and expressive language, fluency, voice, and deaf/hard of hearing. This position has six-hour work days that include medical benefits, retirement benefits, and summer/holiday breaks. A valid Clinical or Rehabilitative Services – Language, Speech and Hearing Credential is required for this position.

The California Energy Commission (CEC) has awarded BorgWarner Inc. and project partners Fermata Energy and The Lion Electric Company a $3 million grant for an innovative Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) project. This initiative is set to bring grid-supporting and cost-saving V2G solutions for services provided by American Transportation to California school districts, including Conejo Valley Unified School District, marking a significant step forward in energy management and the transition to electric school buses.

The deployment of V2G technology for the CVUSD and the Los Angeles County Office of Education, in addition to American Transportation, the school bus fleet operator servicing these students, will support grid reliability and mitigate the impact of PSPS events and extreme weather events. It also will demonstrate the health benefits of zero-emission transportation solutions for communities leveraging V2G technology.

“The Conejo Valley Unified School District is proud to partner with American Transportation as an early adopter of electric buses, which will soon join the fleet of vehicles the CVUSD uses to transport our scholars to school and to extracurricular activities,” said Dr. Victor Hayek, Conejo Valley Unified School District’s Deputy Superintendent. “This new sustainable technology will support this endeavor, with positive infrastructure and environmental impacts for our community – a big win-win.” Click here to read more.
Congratulations to Michelle Eby of Banyan Elementary, Dawn Gould of Los Cerritos Middle and Lisa Ryder of Westlake High for being recognized as 2024 Outstanding Math Educators by the Ventura County Math Council! They represent three of five educators in the county to earn this recognition for their exceptional dedication to quality mathematics education. The 2024 Outstanding Math Educators will be honored at a special awards celebration and dinner this May in Camarillo.

March Madness Returns to the Conejo with Game #2 of Unified Basketball at WHS

On Friday, March 22nd, in front of packed bleachers, Westlake High School hosted Thousand Oaks High School for the second of three Unified Basketball Games that will take place this month. All three of our CVUSD comprehensive high schools are Special Olympics Unified Champion Schools, which is centered on inclusion, engagement and fun. Since 2018, our Unified Sports teams from Thousand Oaks High, Newbury Park High and Westlake High have been meeting at center court for the annual Unified Basketball Games.


A big thank you to all of our dedicated staff members who work tirelessly to make this program a success. The CVUSD is so proud of our Athletes, Unified Partners and school communities for their support of this invaluable program!

March Madness Returns to the Conejo with Game #2 of Unified Basketball at WHS
The LA Kings Development Team hosted a ball hockey clinic with Lang Ranch Elementary School students to celebrate the Wranglers reaching a reading milestone: 500 minutes of reading! The school has been partnering with the LA Kings as part of their schoolwide reading incentive program, where each student completes a reading log - with 500 minutes of reading completed (per student) being the milestone for this fun partnership opportunity. Students not only enjoyed a ball hockey clinic where they learned the basics of the sport, but they also received tickets to attend a future Kings game. Way to go, Wranglers!
