Early Release on Friday: This coming Friday, October 18th is an early release day. Students will be getting out of school at 11:52 AM.

Thanksgiving Food Boxes
Sunshine Division is delivering free food boxes to families who register. These boxes will be delivered starting on Nov 23rd. The food boxes will come with a frozen turkey, all the fixings, and food inside to help create a healthy Thanksgiving meal. Effective bullying prevention efforts involve students, parents, teachers, and community members.
At Powell Butte, this year, we are focused on bullying prevention and we need your help. Please talk to your students about the following:
- Anyone can bully, and anyone can be bullied. Any student can exhibit bullying behavior – male or female, popular or unpopular, students with good grades, and those who struggle academically. Focus needs to be on a student’s behavior, not their profile, when determining if bullying occurred.
- Bullying isn’t about resolving conflict; bullying is about control. When bullying, children continue their behavior when they realize it is hurting someone, and are satisfied by a feeling of power and control.
We will continue to send information and teach our students about strategies to help stop bullying.
Attendance Matters:
Powell Butte Students Setting Attendance Goals
As part of our effort in encouraging regular school attendance, teachers and students set classroom attendance goals monthly. Some days one can hear loud cheers as a memeber of their class enters, making it possible to meet their goal.
Important Information:
Centennial Wrestling: BE A PART OF THE CENTENNIALWRESTLING FAMILY! Come and learn basic wrestling skills and techniques, practice good sportsmanship and have fun! Members willhave the opportunity to participate in weekend tournaments throughout the season. Ages 5-12 of all skill levels are welcomed.
Kids Camp ($50) November 18-21 2024 6-7:30 PM
Mat Club ($125) starting November 4th 2024 Every Monday, Wednesday, Friday 6-7:30 pm High School Upper Gym

National School Lunch Week: In recognition of the National School Lunch Program, which serves lunch to nearly 30 million children each day, all Centennial schools will celebrate National School Lunch Week October 14-18, 2024.
This year's campaign theme, “School Lunch Pirates: Find Your Treasure,” highlights the importance of a healthy school lunch to a student’s success both in and out of the classroom.

Swim Team Tryouts: Swim team tryouts are being held at Centennial High School on October 17th and 24th. All ages are welcome. If you are interested please see the flyer for more details.

PB Site Council/Tier 1 Leadership Team: Calling all Powell Butte Elementary Parents and Community Members. We need your voice! We are looking for parents and community members to be part of our PB Site Council/Tier 1 leadership team . We meet every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month from 7:30am - 8:30am in the library. If you are interested in being a part of our team please reach out to Mr. Austin or Mrs. Reyes. Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, October 16th.
October Parent Teacher Club Meeting: Our second Parent Teacher Club Meeting of the year will be held on Thursday, October 17th starting at 5:30pm in the library. Pizza will be provided. Kids are welcome and we are working on pulling together childcare. We have a full agenda planned and look forward to connecting with you!
