News from Principal Schwartz
Dear CTE Families:
This is the time of year when the weather can change quickly. Please review the winter clothing expectations and reminders listed below as we want all kids to be prepared for the colder weather.
Grade Level Clothing Expectations:
• Grades K-2: Warm coats, hats, gloves/mittens, snow pants, and snow boots.
• Grades 3-5: Warm coats, hats, gloves/mittens, snow pants (recommended) and snow boots.
Key Reminders:
Students are outside for a 30 minute recess each day (as weather allows)
Label all of your child’s gear so it can be returned if it ends up in the Lost and Found.
We are not able to accommodate students remaining indoors during recess unless they have a note from a doctor.
Any child who doesn’t have snow boots will need to play on the blacktop during recess.
Sending an extra pair of socks for your student to keep in their locker is very helpful on wet days.
Review the temperature guidelines for cold weather recess to help your child dress appropriately.
-1 to -4 = 20 min. Outdoor Recess
-5 to -9 = 10 min. Outdoor Recess
-10 or below = Indoor Recess
All my best,
Jen
