Field Trip Reminders
We are so excited for our field trip to the Fort Worth Zoo on Thursday!
*Send your child to school with a disposable drink and paper sack lunch. Label both items with his or her name. We will throw all the trash away after lunch.
*Please have your child wear his or her Austin Mustang t-shirt if they have one.

Language Arts
*Phonics Workshop - I can recognize that a consonant R after a vowel changes the sound of the vowel. I can use flexibility when solving words with R-controlled vowels.
*Readers Workshop - I can track the events of the story. I can make predictions.
*Writer's Workshop - I can write an opening and closing sentence.
*Grammar - I can recognize the difference between homophones.
Math
* I can measure the length of an object using non-standard tools
such as cubes or paper clips. I can say the length of an object I have measured using the number and unit (such as 7 paper clips long).
Science
*I can gather evidence of interdependence among living organisms such as energy transfer.

A Message From Our Counselor
Thank you for all who have responded or filled out the consent form for the upcoming health education lessons. I wanted to let you know that the Child Abuse Prevention and Family Violence Prevention lessons will take place for 1st grade the week of May 1st.
If you have not gotten a chance to fill out the form, you still are able to do so. I highly encourage you to view the parent preview link before making your decision. I have included the link below - this is the lesson that your child will be receiving from me the week of May 1st.

Coppell ISD residents, who are registered to vote may cast a ballot in the May 6 Bond Election. Voters will be asked to vote "FOR" or "AGAINST" the $321.5 million bond measure on May 6. In accordance with state law, the bond referendum will be presented as four separate propositions.
