Author Visit with Jerry Pallotta
On Wednesday, children's author, Jerry Pallotta, visited Coosa! The students got to learn about his life, where he finds inspiration, and how he writes and helps design his books. Additionally, our 4th grade students got to share a project they worked on in their STEM and science classes which were inspired by Pallotta's books, Who Would Win?
It was an excellent day of learning and meeting someone new at Coosa!

The Month of the Military Child
Did you know that April is The Month of the Military Child? At Coosa, we are so thankful for our military families and love the opportunity to recognize the important role military-connected children play in the community! Please mark your calendars to help us celebrate these special children the week of April 21-25.
We ask that each our our military-connected families send in a family photo, if they have not already. You are welcome to email the photo to michelle.comunale.ess@beaufort.k12.sc.us.
Scholastic Book Fair
The Book Fair will be open to students and families beginning the evening of our STEM Night on Thursday, April 24 (5:30 p.m.).
The Book Fair will be open to students Friday, April 25 - Wednesday, April 30 (excluding weekend dates).
We highly encourage our families to be proactive and set-up an eWallet for your student(s). This eliminates the need for cash and is a very safe and effective way for our students to shop the fair with our librarians, teachers, and volunteers. Please set-up your child's eWallet and learn more about our Book Fair here: https://www.scholastic.com/bf/coosaelementaryschool
If you have any questions about the Book Fair, please email Ms. Kabel: ashley.kabel@beaufort.k12.sc.us

Habits for a Happy Home
Sharpen the Saw - Mental and Emotional Health
This week, we continue with Sharpen the Saw by focusing on mental and emotional health. Encourage your child to engage in activities that stimulate their mind, such as puzzles, reading, or learning a new skill. Help them manage their emotions by practicing deep breathing or journaling. When your child feels overwhelmed, show them ways to relax and de-stress. Model healthy coping mechanisms for managing emotions, helping your child learn how to maintain mental and emotional balance.
