Toddler Friendly Thanksgiving
Visit your local branch of the Harford County Public Library! Many branches have Thanksgiving book displays and special storytime programming. Talking about the upcoming holiday will help your child prepare for the special day.
Parenting website Very Well Family has some suggestions for keeing toddlers busy on Thanksgiving. They recommend having children help with preparation, getting them outside, fall crafts, and even the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. To read more, check out the article 7 Ways to Entertain a Toddler on Thanksgiving (verywellfamily.com).
For children under age 5, Care.com suggests that assigning children tasks help them feel important. Ask them to prepare the table and share in meal preparation. Even younger kids can help mash potatoes or wash things in the sink with a colander. To learn more, visit Care.com.
