The Trojan Times
September 29, 2024
Mission Statement
St. Maria Goretti is a living testament to our Lord's work in His youngest disciples, exemplified by academic excellence, spiritual formation, and compassionate service to others.
St. Maria Goretti Catholic School aims to form what is True, Good, and Beautiful in the souls of our young disciples of Christ.
Principal's Message
Dear St. Maria Goretti Catholic School Families,
Our new carline starts on Monday. Please be sure to make TWO lines when entering the parking lot. The only child and two or more children places have switched. See the email I sent Friday or the information below.
The playground is DONE!! We are waiting for the final inspection then the kids will be able to play. We are planning a playground blessing this week, likely Wednesday after Mass. I will share more details once the final inspection is complete.
Don't forget that students may wear their GorettiFest T-shirts every day this week (except Wednesday) with uniform bottoms. GorettiFest is 5 days away! Please check gorettifest.com for updates and ways you can help make this event a success!
Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday next week, we will have indoor pickup due to GorettiFest set up.
Remember Friday is a noon dismissal day and there is NO SMEED. ALL students must be picked up by 12:15 PM.
Beginning Wednesday all students are required to wear their cardigan sweater to Mass with the circular crest patch on the left side. The pull over sweater or sweater vest is not correct Mass uniform, nor are the old patches. Thank you for your partnership.
The pet blessing will take place on Thursday October 3, 2024 in the back parking lot at 3:00 PM. Please bring any pets that you would like to have blessed.
We will NOT have a Trojan Times next week since we will be having a blast at GorettiFest.
The next edition of the Trojan Times will be sent on October 13, 2024.
St. Maria Goretti, Pray for Us!
Blessings,
Amy Utendorf, M.Ed.

Carline Changes - Please Read
Dear SMG Families,
It has been brought to my attention that during the afternoon carline the line has been backing up onto Davis.
To prevent this from happening, we need to adjust a few things.
- When entering the SMG parking lot, please make TWO lines. If you go to lane 5 you can start a line near the fence.
- My PreK and Kinder parents can enter their line using the small parking lot near the gym. This will allow them easy access to the line and remove them from the main line altogether.
- Once you are in your lane, please be sure to pull up all the way. DO NOT stop when you see your child; go to the front of the loading area to ensure we can load as many cars as possible.
Having done outdoor carline a few times, we see the need to make a change. Starting MONDAY we will be switching the locations of the ONLY CHILDREN and the 2 OR MORE CHILDREN. This means:
- 2 or more children will be picked up in Lanes 2 and 3
- Only Children will be picked up in Lanes 4 and 5
Thank you for always having your orange cards out and ready for us to see. Thank you for your patience and grace while we work out the details of the carline system. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out.

TERRIFIC TROJANS
SMG students receive a Terrific Trojan sticker when they are "caught" being safe, responsible and respectful. After wearing the sticker during the day, the Terrific Trojan places it on the hallway bulletin board. We love seeing how full the bulletin board becomes by the end of the school year.
