Hello Folks,
Welcome to another edition of Dorm Happenings here on the campus of KSB. We have had another busy week here at Howser Dorm with all the changing weather patterns. We began the week with a meal of fries and chicken tenders with deserts and drinks prepared by Ms. Dollie and dorm staff. The small group of students in the dorm were busy discussing the weekend activities and getting ready for another busy week of academic work at KSB. The activity of the day on Sunday was shuffleboard, pinball and pool with students and staff.
Monday brought another busy day for the dorm students with groups of students working with dorm staff on many dorm chores and expectations for a balance of academic work, skills and recreation. Our elementary students were busy with Simon Says, directions on north, south, east, and west. Also understanding of body placement at 180 degree and 360-degree movements and space awareness. The middle school and high school groups were busy with pop a shot activity and bike riding.
Tuesday was a fun time after school as both groups were busy playing Predator and Prey game that involves lots of running, and movement and space awareness. Students show lots of interest in this game and also make a request of this game more often as the weather gets warmer.
On Wednesday the elementary students got a trip to the bowling alley with Ms. Katy and Mr. Larry as they got to bowl and eat pizza and have soft drinks at the bowling alley. They were super excited about this outing and were asking about going again next week. The middle and high school groups were together on Wednesday night that had them In the Scout Group and they were discussing camping outings and camping safety. The group also got to put together a tent and got to hang out inside the tent. There were many good ideas and great input from the students on wanting to go and set up a tent outside.
On Thursday the elementary students were involved in a free day for recreation time riding bikes, playing the piano and jumping on the bouncy mat. The middle school and high school students were playing pool, jumping on the bouncy mat and watching a movie on the big screen TV.
It has been a very busy week here at the Howser dorm and we are excited to get back on track for a normal week free from weather disruptions. We hope everyone has a great weekend and look forward to seeing everyone back on campus Sunday afternoon.
Reminder that the NASB Audible Egg Hunt on KSB campus for Sunday March 23rd from 5-7. Please pass the word, sign the registration and come be a part of that event.
