From the Principal's Desk
Hopkins Families,
This month we get to celebrate Women's History Month & Irish American Heritage Month! Also, we will have our annual STEAM Day and Night events for students and families!
Congratulations to our Lego Robotics Team PandaBots at the Robotics League State Competition at the University of Georgia! Our students won Third Place for Innovation Project Award! We also had four Hopkins student participate in the Gwinnet County Science and Engineering Fair!
Hopkins' Beta Club held its Induction Ceremony in February! Our Beta Club has been working hard getting our recycling program up and running. Our upcoming projects include painting the planters around our campus and planting flowers, as well as starting a composting bin and gardening projects! We are very proud of our 4th and 5th grade students who are leaders and role models in our building!
Also, our student council had the wonderful opportunity to spend a day with Rep. Marvin Lim at the Georgia State Capitol! Thank you Ms. LeAnne Hatfield, our Social Studies Enrichment teacher, who coordinated the field trip for our students!
Finally, GCPS will send a survey link to all families through the portal from February 28th through March 10th. Please take the survey to let us know how we are doing!
Great things are happening at the HOP!

The A+ Education Reform Act of 2000 established school councils in Georgia to bring communities and schools closer together in a spirit of cooperation to achieve the following: solve difficult education problems, improve academic achievement, provide support for teachers and administrators, and bring parents into the school-based decision-making process. In short, School Councils provide advice, recommendations, and assistance to principals and local boards of education. Hopkins school council meets four times a year.
