Meet the New Principal!
Back to School 2023-2024 with Mr. Rutledge
Welcome to Capay Elementary School!
Capay Families,
With great pleasure, I write to you as the new Superintendent/Principal of the Capay Joint Union Elementary School District. I feel honored and privileged to be part of this tremendous community, which has already given my family a warm welcome. It is abundantly clear that Capay Elementary School is a special place because the students, teachers, staff, families, school board, and community genuinely care. I am thrilled to collaborate with you and our tremendous teachers/staff to create a warm, safe, exciting, and challenging learning environment for our students. We are poised to meet students where they are by recognizing and embracing each child's diverse needs.
As we embark on this educational journey, I want to inform you of our LCAP Goals for the 2023-2024 school year. These goals will serve as our guiding light in supporting instruction and academic growth at Capay Elementary School.
1. Students in grades K-8 will increase academic achievement in ELA and Mathematics.
2. 100% of students will be instructed by fully credentialed teachers assigned to effectively teach using standards-based, board-approved instructional materials. Students will receive instruction in all content areas through a broad course of study. They will consistently demonstrate proficiency in a safe, well-maintained learning environment.
3. Capay School will provide a safe and secure learning environment for all staff, students, and parents to facilitate input and involvement in student achievement and a positive school experience.
We will have various opportunities for parent involvement this year, including board meetings, PTO meetings, Task Force, and subcommittees. Your feedback is highly encouraged! More information about these meetings will be made available to you in the coming weeks.
I want to share with you that while working in education is my passion, I also take pride in being a father to my kids (Lumen, 8) and (Teddy, 5) and a good husband to my wife (Darcie). Let's work together toward making this a fantastic school year!
Sincerely,
Mr. Rutledge
