Around Campus
Programming for the 25-26 school year has begun and will continue through early April. The class of 2026 (current juniors) will be meeting with their counselors this week to pick their classes for senior year. Great job Nathaniel Madden and Isabel Contreras as they competed in the WASA speech contest with the theme of "Your Story, Your Journey" on Monday evening last week.
The Titan Football team was recognized at Tuesday's Whittier City Council Meeting for their record winning season! We had a full house last night for the ECA celebration recognizing students for passing their college class with a C or better! Thank you to Norianah Naranjo for sharing her experience thus far in the Associates Degree Pathway program.
The California Dashboard shows growth across Pioneer High School...Way to go Titans! We will be sharing details about this data at our next LCAP meeting along with getting input on our site plan to address performance gaps. Additionally at this meeting we are gathering input as we are going through the WASC Accreditation Self-Study Process and will have an on-site viist February 23-26, 2025. If you are interested in sharing your insights we are hosting a parent meeting on 2/5/25 beginning at 5:30pm. Please rsvp at this form or email Samuel.Sanford@wuhsd.org or call 562.698.8121 ext. 5020

Horizons
🎉 **Congratulations to our Outstanding Titans!** 🎉
We are thrilled to recognize the outstanding achievements of our Fall Early College Academy students!
This semester, 58 students embraced the challenge of college courses, and their results were truly exceptional:
✨ 98% earned a grade of “C” or better
✨ 83% achieved a “B” or higher
Their dedication, perseverance, and commitment to excellence inspire us all!
We also want to extend our appreciation to the incredible staff who supported these students every step of the way. Thank you, Carlos Contreras, for advising the ADP Club and working alongside Ms. Arelia Medina to guide our scholars—not just academically, but also in building meaningful community connections.
In December, the ADP Club organized a sock drive for homeless veterans, and we deeply appreciate everyone who contributed. Your generosity and encouragement made a real difference! 💚
Way to go, Titans! Together, we’re paving the way for a bright future! 🌟

Fire Drill 2/13/25
On Thursday, February 13th Pioneer High School will have a fire drill. This drill will focus on Fire Safety and Evacuation. During the drill, all staff and students will participate in a complete school-wide evacuation, following our established safety protocols. These regular drills are an essential part of our commitment to maintaining a safe learning environment.
We encourage you to use this opportunity to review your family's home fire safety plan. The American Red Cross provides excellent resources for Home Fire Prevention & Safety, which include guidelines for:
- Creating and practicing a home evacuation plan
- Testing smoke alarms
- Identifying multiple escape routes
- Establishing a family meeting point
You can find these valuable resources on the American Red Cross website. Taking time to review and practice these safety measures at home can help ensure your family is prepared in case of an emergency.
Thank you for your continued support in maintaining a safe school environment.
