Ducks Update

Hello, Davis Duck Families,

It’s been a busy few weeks at Davis! Our upper grade students have been hard at work with state testing, and they’re doing an outstanding job. I’ve seen them using thinking maps and other strategies to support their answers—such impressive effort! Alongside testing, we've had field trips, Meet the Masters, Kinder Community Centers, and more. There’s been so much learning and excitement happening all around campus!

Thank you to our entire community for going above and beyond to spoil our staff this week. From the snack bar to the coffee, breakfasts, lunches, and thoughtful gifts, every gesture made our team feel truly appreciated. Your kindness and support mean the world to us, and we are so grateful to be part of such a caring community.

As we continue to plan for the 2025–26 school year, the Davis Magnet Foundation and PTA are seeking your valuable input. Bell Schedule Changes
You may have heard that some elementary schools in NMUSD will have bell schedule changes next year. Please note that Davis will not be affected—our start and end times will remain the same.

Intent to Return for 25-26
Preparations for the 2025-2026 school year are now underway. To assist us in planning, we need to confirm our enrollment. Please complete this form by Friday, May 9, 2025, for each student in Grades K-5 who attends Davis Magnet. Please click here to access the form. Thank you for your assistance.

State Testing Notice for Grades 3–6
State testing will soon be underway for students in grades 3 through 6. To maintain a focused and distraction-free environment, volunteers will not be permitted in testing classrooms during this time.

Our campus will be following a strict schedule through the latter part of May to support student success during this important period. Daily attendance and on-time arrival are especially important during testing, as they have a significant impact on student performance.

To help minimize disruptions, we kindly ask that you schedule any appointments outside of testing times. Please refer to the schedule below for specific dates and details.

Next Wednesday, May 14th, join us at Chuck E. Cheese on Harbor Blvd in Costa Mesa for our last dineout of the year. From 1pm-close, they’ll donate 20% back to our school when you mention Davis or show this flyer – in store OR online.
