Mary Hogan Family Newsletter
Update from Principal Jen Kravitz
December 13, 2024
Dear Mary Hogan Families,
We had so much fun this week with the Student Council designed Spirit Week. It was fun to start the week with a special shirt - since we all have shirts that we love so much. As the week went on to Twin Day and then Wacky Wednesday, more and more students were dressing up and having fun with the theme. We were full of sports fans on Thursday - with many sports and players represented across the school. And, then we were so comfortable today in our pajamas and sweatshirts! It was pretty funny to talk with a student this afternoon who said they were so tired and it was because they were wearing their pajamas all day!
While your child may have participated a little or a lot this past week, the best part is that we could have a lot of fun together as a community. Sometimes things get so serious, so having fun feels so wonderful and a lovely reset in this time of the year that can be stressful and busy outside of school. I am looking forward to one more great week before a longer December Break.
Be well.
💙, Jen

Update from La Clase de Español
Hola estimadas familias:
In Spanish class, students are finishing the unit ¨How the World Works¨ by observing different perspectives of how humans and animals interact around the world, learning about different characteristics of domestic vs. wild animals, and thinking of what are the humans' responsibility to the needs of animals.
The communication goal is for students to describe an animal in Spanish. You can find your child's presentation on Toddle Program in the Spanish assignment section -Presentation Describing an animal- The presentation will vary depending on their proficiency level.
On my website at MHS students can find a lot of information about animals, and many other interesting subjects to keep practicing Spanish at home.
¡Felices vacaciones! Happy vacations!
Con cariño,

Rumor has it that a therapy dog will be visiting!
We have an opportunity to have Rumor, a therapy dog, come to visit on Monday 12/16. He is a trained therapy dog and will be visiting small groups at Mary Hogan as a trial of what we hope will be more visits to help support students at Mary Hogan. Your child may or may not see Rumor on Monday. If you have any worries, please reach out to your child's teacher.
