Penguin's Raft
4th week of February
#GOPENGUINS #PositiveSignThursday
Dear Moraine Families,
This Wednesday, February 22nd is our annual Moraine Leadership Day! Please have your child wear their Moraine spirit wear to school on Wednesday. To continue our school-wide focus on kindness, all Moraine classes will be completing a service project in or around the Northville community on Leadership Day.
We have classes working with the Humane Society of Huron Valley, Northville Civic Concern, Mott's Children Hospital, and many more! Please see communication from your child's teacher regarding specific details about their class's project and if there is any way for you to get involved. It's going to be an amazing day for our Moraine Penguins as we use the 8 habits to help make our surrounding communities a better place!

Parent Math 101 - March 8th, 2023
Do you have questions about how to help your child (ren) with math homework? You may be interested in a Parent Math 101 session we are offering with our District Math Consultant/Coach, Dr. Carrie Zielinski at Moraine on Wednesday, March 8th . She has set aside a block of time from 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM to meet with parents to review some of the math strategies and math models we use when teaching students mathematics here in Northville. This will be a great time to learn about the best ways to support your child with mathematics.

Don’t forget to write your school’s name in the “Additional Notes” section when you register! Last year Winchester was the big winner…. which PTA will receive the big check this year!?
The Moraine School-Wide Kindness Goal
This year, the Moraine staff and students have focused in on the area of our vision that speaks about KINDNESS. We all agree that if we were to focus on being more kind, the results around our school and community would have an incredible impact!
This month, the action step we are taking is about students being helpful to others. You can help us out at home by talking to you child about what it means to be helpful in a shared community. We all share this space - whether at home or at school or anywhere else. Holding the door for someone, picking up a trash when you see it on the floor (especially when it's not yours!), asking what you can do to help....What can your family come up with?
One of our most important jobs as parents is modeling the behavior we want to see developed within our children. Join in on the kindness at home!

March 16 – Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to be
Understood
April 20 – Habit 6: Synergize
May 18 – Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw

Light refreshments are provided. Please bring something to drink and join us as we have fun discussing how to successfully (and at times unsuccessfully) implement the 7 Habits at home.
