Survey Results
Dear CCPS Families,
We want to express our gratitude for your active participation in the FY25 budget survey. We had over 1,400 staff and 3,100 parents participate. Your input is invaluable in shaping the future of our school district.
The survey results have provided insight into your priorities and concerns to support our decision-making process with the FY25 budget development. We understand that the choices we make regarding the budget can significantly impact the quality of education we provide to our students, and your input helps us make informed decisions.

It is important to note that as mandated by Maryland regulations and stated in the video that was posted with the survey (see below), CCPS MUST teach programs mentioned in the survey, including fine arts, career and technical education, gifted education, environmental education, and other programs to enhance a student’s experience. However, we also acknowledge that budgetary constraints may necessitate innovative approaches to delivering modified versions of these programs.
Our commitment to excellence remains unwavering, and we are actively exploring creative solutions to ensure that these mandated programs are delivered effectively, even in the face of budgetary challenges. Your suggestions and concerns, as highlighted in the survey, will guide us in finding efficient and innovative ways to maintain the quality of education while managing our resources responsibly.
Thank you again for your participation, and please stay engaged as we continue to work together for the benefit of our students and the entire CCPS community. If you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey A. Lawson, Ed.D.
