Family Movie Night Suggestion
To help families spend time together and share common experiences, The Leadership Institute of the Diocese of Bridgeport provides recommendations for Family Movie Night. Each week, a new movie recommendation and explanation are available for your consideration. Click here for recent suggestions, including this week's suggestion, "Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang".
In early 20th century England, eccentric but unlucky inventor Caractacus Potts (Dick Van Dyke) and his two children rescue an old champion racing car from the scrapyard. After repairing it and naming it after the unique sounds it makes, the family heads out for a picnic on the beach. The film morphs into a whimsical fantasy when Caractacus begins telling his children a story involving their new car, now with superpowers. In this story-within-a-story, a tyrannical king wants nothing more than to get his hands on the super-powered car, and the Potts family find themselves on a fantastical adventure to save both their car and the kingdom from the king’s evil plots.
