Holy Trinity Catholic School
Home of the Saints -February 24, 2016
From the Principal's Desk:
Snow Make-Up Day
We are now IN SESSION on Friday, April 15th.
Fish Fry
The worker list for the fish fry on Feb 26th came home in purple folders last week. We still have some open shifts, so if you are able to help, it would be greatly appreciated. Please contact Phil Clauss at pjclauss1975@gmail.com. Also included in the purple folder tonight is a brief set of guidelines for gym supervision in order to keep all students safe. Thank you for your support - both in working and enjoying the meal!
Student Allergy and Safety
Just a reminder note that in an effort to keep our students safe, we kindly ask that all peanut products stay at home. Thanks for your help!
ISTEP
We will begin testing on Tuesday, March 1st at 8:00am and will continue testing throughout the week. We hope to be finished by Friday, March 4th! With this in mind, we certainly appreciate your help in making sure your child is at school on time, does not need to leave for appointments during the day, is well rested and has a good breakfast to fuel the brain. Thank you in advance for your help!
Good Luck
We want to wish our MATH BOWL students the best as they compete this Thursday at 5:00pm, Cedar Crest Intermediate School!
Also needing to "break a leg" are the three Destination Imagination Teams who travel to Sellersburg this Saturday for Regional Competition!
All of these students have worked hard with their coaches to get ready for competition! I am confident that they will represent Holy Trinity Catholic School well as they give it their best!
Cafeteria News:
Read Across America is March 2nd!
In honor of Read Across America Day we are asking that each student dress up as their favorite book character!
- West & Central Campus Students -next Wednesday, March 2nd
- East Campus Students - next Friday, March 4th (due to ISTEP Testing)
Go through your children's favorite books, pick out a character, and make a homemade costume together - keep it simple! Please talk to your students about why they are dressing up and the importance of reading. We look forward to celebrating our love of reading next week!
I promise to read
Each day and each night.
I know it's the key
To growing up right.
I'll read to myself,
I'll read to a crowd.
It makes no difference
If silent or loud.
I'll read at my desk,
At home and at school,
On my bean bag or bed,
By the fire or pool.
Each book that I read
Puts smarts in my head,
'Cause brains grow more thoughts
The more they are fed.
So I take this oath
To make reading my way
Of feeding my brain
What it needs every day.
