Joint Annual Conference
The Board discussed the upcoming Joint Annual Conference, held annually in November. The Annual Conference of the Illinois Association of School Administrators (IASA) and Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB) Joint Annual Conference is an opportunity for district leadership teams to join with fellow partners in educational excellence to showcase the learning and inspiration happening at public schools throughout the state.
Guided Update
The Board received an update regarding the finances on the special education Guided Program that was brought in house this year. For the past 12 years, the guided program was shared among Districts 96, 102 and 103 as part of an intergovernmental agreement to host grade level bands in each district. Each district is able to run their own program at this time, so there is no longer a need for the intergovernmental agreement.
Student Growth Report
Dr. Katie Reynolds, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, shared a report with the Board that District 103 students scored above norms on state and national assessments. The district is seeing students make expected growth in the majority of subjects for ELA, math, and reading, which is positive, Dr. Reynolds said.
