Happy Friday Cougar Families!
I hope you all had a restful Thanksgiving week with loved ones and our students are charged up for the last few weeks of the term. The last day of the Fall term is Friday, December 20 so please give your Cougars all the love and encouragement they need to finish strong.
Intent to Enroll Online Application (NEW STUDENTS ONLY)
Calling all future Cougars! The new student enrollment process for the 2025-26 school year is now open! All first time Cougars who wish to attend Steele Canyon High School next year must complete an Intent to Enroll Online Application. Applications must be submitted by the end of day on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 to be considered in the lottery. More information can be found on our website at www.schscougars.org. *Current Steele Canyon students do not need to apply. Their registration automatically rolls over into next school year
Fill the Boot
Big thanks to our San Miguel Fire, Cougar Crew students led by Megan Werland, Morgyn Geck, Alexis Ortiz, Pam Ahrens, and Cougar Crew students, and our amazingly generous community for an amazing job. Their leadership and enthusiasm helped raise over $3,500 for needy families in our community. The students are filling up the shopping carts tonight night at Target and the parade is tomorrow.

Beginning Guitar Ensemble: Our budding guitarists will showcase their skills with a selection of lively tunes that highlight their musical growth and enthusiasm.
String Orchestra: The graceful strings will resonate through the hall with classical and contemporary pieces, demonstrating precision and passion.
Concert Band: Our concert band will present a dynamic repertoire ranging from spirited marches to emotive ballads, showcasing their dedication and musicality.
Percussion Ensemble: Get ready to feel the rhythm with the vibrant beats and intricate rhythms of our percussion ensemble, as they bring energy and excitement to the stage.
Color Guard: Adding visual splendor to the musical tapestry, our color guard will mesmerize with their choreographed routines, perfectly synchronized to the music.
Winter Formal
We are excited to announce that the Winter Formal theme is "Floating in the Moment" and will be held on February 1, 2025, at the Bahia Resort from 6 pm to 10 pm. Ticket prices are listed below:
Dec 9 - Dec 13: $45 w/ an ASB card and $55 w/out
Dec 14 - Dec 20: $55 w/ an ASB card and $65 w/out
Dec 21 - Jan 17: $65 w/ an ASB card and $75 w/out
Jan 18 - Jan 29: $75 w/ an ASB card and $85 w/out
This year, students have the option to purchase tickets either at the Finance Office or online through 5-Star Students. QR codes will be available to scan on posters around the school and a link is available on the ASB website under the Winter Formal tab. (A convenience fee will be added for tickets purchased online). Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferrable. Purchase your tickets early for the best price.
If you want to bring a guest, you must have them fill out a guest pass. Guest Passes are available on the ASB website and at the Finance Office. You must turn in a guest pass in order to purchase a ticket for a guest. Guest tickets must be purchased at the Finance Office.
Virtual Author Event
We are excited to be hosting author Kika Hatzopoulou, who will be joining us at the SCHS Library via Zoom to discuss her debut novel, Threads That Bind.

Final Exam Care Package
Happy Holidays!
As the semester comes to an end and final exams approach, the Girls Soccer program will be hosting a Final Exam Care Package fundraiser! Back by popular demand, parents and guardians can now buy a care package for students filled with treats for only $10. All care packages will be delivered to students during the final week of the semester, on December 17th. Cheer
Varsity Cheer was recognized at the KUSI PPR Silver Pigskin Gala for being the favorite Cheer Squad this season! They got to attend the event and be thanked for their work as "The Team Behind The Team" for our football team this season, as well as be filmed by a real news crew and their video was shown to the 2,000 plus attendees. Way to go Varsity Cheer!
Like a Rock
Ethen Snook was awarded the "Like a Rock" award for being both a Varsity Football Player and also performing in the halftimes in the band! Way to go Ethen!
Girls Tennis
Congratulations to your girls tennis team for having the highest GPA among all SCHS Fall Sports at an incredible 4.38!!!!
Boys Basketball
We are heading into our last home games of 2024 this week at 5-2, as we face St. Augustine Saints today, and High Tech High - Chula Vista on Friday. Our boys love seeing familiar faces in the stands so thank you for coming out to support the program!
We have also officially opened our BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM STORE for those who would like to grab some updated gear before the holiday season. It will close 2 weeks from today on December 18th.

Drive Safe - the Cougar Way
Friendly reminder to drive cautiously as you enter and exit the campus. Campus Supervisors are here to keep the traffic moving - please follow all traffic directions from security personnel. Reminder that we do not provide access for cars at the back of the school during the school day.
