Our PTA supports our students and staff in so many ways! One of them is helping to get our 5th graders to eco-week. This is our 3rd year going and fun was had by all!!

Mileage Club will look a little different this year. We will be meeting for 3 months in the Fall: September, October and November. This is like a cross country season. We will meet up again in the Spring: March, April and May, similar to a track season.

Start date will be Monday, September, 9th at 7:30am on the Ponderosa track. We will meet Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. The end of the Fall season is Friday, November 22nd. Students and families are encouraged to run the Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day.

Spring season will start on Monday, March 3rd and end on Tuesday, May 20th. Students will be encouraged to run the 2 mile ‘Run for the Trees’ event at Mehaffey Park. ( Details on the running events will be provided closer to the event)

Mileage Club has become a tradition at Ponderosa. The challenge is to run or walk 100 miles during the school year. Our sole mission is to provide the opportunity for everyone to experience fitness and true personal success by “Accepting the Challenge”. Our hope is that students of all abilities are inspired to be active in an accepting and positive environment. We will be working on several team and character building activities each season.

The cost for this 6 month program is $15.00. This includes an official 100 mile t-shirt after reaching their 25 miles, a 100 mile pencil for 50 miles, a wrist band for 75 miles and a certificate and gold medal for 100 miles. Every student also receives a chain necklace and a “footie” token for each mile completed.

As many of you have noticed, our new nutritionl services program has menus that have a lot more detail, but are not user friendly. We have created this "shorthand" menu for September attached below. For more detail, or for any changes, view the online menu. Just be sure to change the school to "Ponderosa" and that you are on the "lunch" option, NOT the "ECD lunch"

School Hours:

• 8:00 am - 3:10 pm - M, T, Th, F
• 9:00 am - 3:10 - Wednesdays

Breakfast:

• 7:40 am - 8:00 am - M, T, Th, F
• 8:40 am - 9:00 am - Wednesdays

Please note - students may not be on school grounds before 7:40 am (8:40 am on Wednesdays) unless they are participating in a school sponsored activity. There is no adult supervision before that time.

The YMCA of Northern Colorado offers safe and structured care for Ponderosa students before and after school. YMCA is open from 3:10 pm until 6:00 pm each day after school.
