Jarrell ISD Monday Memo
December 2, 2024
Cougars,
We're excited to announce our expanded course offerings allowing our students to earn an associate's degree in high school. This will provide students additional opportunities in today's dynamic job market and save families tuition money.
The district currently offers dual credit through Austin Community College beginning in 11th grade and dual enrollment through the University of Texas OnRamps in 10th grade. These academic courses are provided to our students at no cost. Currently our students can earn up to:
24 Austin Community College credit hours
3 University of Texas credit hours
The district is expanding its dual credit courses allowing students to earn up to 42 credit hours, putting them on track to earn an associate's degree prior to high school graduation. This results in a savings of approximately $14,000 per graduate, making higher education accessible to all Jarrell ISD students.
We're excited for students to go on this journey, unlock their potential, and prepare for a successful career. We will provide more information in the coming months as we prepare for the program expansion.
