Assalamu alaikum respected parents,

I pray you are well and ready to welcome Ramadan in sha Allah. May Allah SWT allow all of us to make the most of this Ramadan in good health and get closer to Allah SWT. Last Sunday we held our Annual Surah Memorization Competition and we are so proud of all the 65+ students who participated across all grade levels ma sha Allah. The results are now ready and available to look at in the "NEWS YOU CAN USE" Section of this Newsletter. Our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will receive their awards at the end of year awards ceremony in sha Allah. We extend our special thanks to our judges, Sr Eman Enaya, Sr Zeinab Moustafa, Sr. Ayesha Khaleel, Sr. Nour Shayeb, Sr Mona Hamdan and Sr Marwa Ali ElSaid who volunteered their time to listen to the recitations of our enthusiastic participants ma sha Allah. May Allah SWT put His Barakat and accept everyone's efforts, Ameen

We are looking forward to our "Welcome Ramadan Event" tomorrow, Sunday, March 10th, 2024, that has been organized by our amazing Parent Support Group (PSG) volunteers for our students during Sunday School hours. Look for more information in the flyer included below. Please NOTE that this is for students only, and will be held during Lunch/Recess time. Due to space limitations, parents will NOT be able to join this event. However, we will make sure to include lots of pictures for parents to enjoy in the next week's newsletter.

Last but not least, please make sure to spring forward your clocks 1 hour ahead before going to bed on Saturday night, due to Daylight Saving time. We will lose one hour of sleep, so please try to send kids to bed early.

MORNING ASSEMBLY: On Sunday (3/3), our morning assembly was led by Br Imam Azfar who talked to students about the importance of Ramadan and shared tips on what students can do to get the most benefit out of this blessed month in sha Allah.

This is one of my favorite sections of the Newsletter as I get to brag about our amazing team Alhumdulillah, who make Sunday School special. We are blessed and fortunate to have an excellent team of teachers and TA's who are very passionate and dedicated members of our community offering their valuable time and efforts to the noble cause of imparting Islamic education to our youth Alhumdulillah. Please refer to this FULL LIST OF TEACHERS for the 2023-24 school year along with their contact information. Our goal is help parents gets to know their children's teachers in sha Allah. Hence I will be introducing one to two teachers/TA's every week in my Newsletter Teacher Spot Light Section. See image below.

Parent involvement is essential for students development, leads to increased student achievement and success and offers many benefits. We highly encourage our parents to get involved at IFN Sunday School which is why we are offering several opportunities for parent involvement this year. These include the following:

1. Join Parent Support Group (PSG)

2. Become a Teaching Assistant

3. Become a Lunch/Recess Supervisor

4. Lead a Morning Assembly at Sunday School

5. Be a Substitute Teacher or TA
