July 18th, 2024

Committed to the Pack!
We hope you are enjoying your summer break so far, Wolves!
This is number one of four weekly summer bulletins to prepare students for the new 2024-25 school year. Over the next couple of weeks these bulletins provide information for all grade levels. Whether you are an incoming freshman or entering your senior year, we will answer frequently asked questions such as:
- When and how do I sign up for Fall Sports?
- How do I get a parking pass?
- How do I navigate Skyward Family Access and what is ParentSquare?
- When do I get my class schedule, books, yearbook photos and I.D. card?
- What supplies should I bring with me to start the year?
- How much is a yearbook, ASB card and what costs should I anticipate during my senior year?
Watch for the 2024-25 Back to School Summer Bulletin Series in your Email, posted on Facebook and on the High School website.

School Supplies
If you waste time looking for things, or forget what to bring to class, you may need to work on your organizational skills! Being organized will not only make you a better student, it will help you succeed in life.
What will I need on the first day of class?
A 3-ring binder with subject dividers and pocket inserts,
Two or more blue/black pens,
Sharpened pencils,
College ruled loose-leaf notebook paper
One or more highlighter(s).
Every Freshman will be issued a 24-25 High School Planner/Handbook during Freshman Focus class.
The Handbook can also be found online at: https://skhs.skschools.org/our-school/handbook
Some students prefer having two binders-- One for A days and one for B days. This can help with organization from day one!
High School Pro Tip:
Enter an absence request, excuse an absence or late arrival for your student through Skyward Family Access under the Attendance tab.
(Off campus requests still need prior authorization in the form of a note or phone call from a parent/guardian.)
ParentSquare & Skyward Family Access
South Kitsap School District uses ParentSquare for school communication, primarily with email, text and app notifications.
ParentSquare automatically generates an account for each parent using the email and phone number entered into SKYWARD. You will receive school communication even if you do not register your account, but parents will need to register your account in order to communicate back and to access student-specific documents and forms. We encourage parents to access their accounts so they can download the mobile app and update their preferences on when and how they are notified.
For more information about ParentSquare (Consejos de ParentSquare para padres y tutores) go to: https://www.skschools.org/parentsquare
Skyward Family Access
Skyward Family Access gives parents real-time online access to student information.
This includes grades, report cards, attendance, class schedules and immunization records. Parents should verify online that emergency contact information for each student is correct, required annual forms are completed and that they acknowledge the receipt of the district Rights and Responsibilities.
All communication with the district and school begins with accurate contact information in SKYWARD!
