Hello Eagle Crest Families!


I hope that you have been having a wonderful summer and that you are starting to look forward to the new school year. This past month my family and I took a trip to visit relatives and friends on the east coast, and our time at home has been spent bouncing back and forth between the Longmont Public Library, Sunset Pool, and the soccer field. I am always grateful for the summer break, AND I also cherish the excitement and promise of a new school year!


We are meeting with our instructional leadership team next week for a full day planning session at the SVVSD Innovation Center. It is always so fun to get a group of passionate and inspiring educators together to reflect on our practices, dream big, and think about how to best serve students and families. We are also preparing to welcome some new teachers to our building and I know that they will bring with them a wealth of knowledge and experience to share with our community.


From this point on, you can expect to hear from me each Thursday in our regularly scheduled family newsletter. Our office staff will be making their way back to the building on August 1st, and we are available to chat if you need anything or have questions. Please read below for some information about upcoming important dates and other news to gear up for August. As always, we can be easily reached by email if that works best for you!

Kindergarten Registration

It’s time to get all of our incoming Kindergarten students registered and ready for the new school year! Getting students set up and registered helps us plan for teachers class sizes, and ordering materials. If you have an incoming student please be sure to reach out to Dinah Sherwood (sherwood_dinah@svvsd.org) to get that process started. This week we sent a special newsletter to families who have already registered. If you know any incoming Kindergarten families, please send them our way!

Class Lists

Class lists for students in grades 1-5 will be posted outside of the main office on Friday, August 12th at 9:00am. Kindergarten class lists will be shared after the assessment days, on August 18th. Each year this is an exciting tradition and we know that families and students are looking forward to getting to know their new teachers and classmates. You can expect to hear directly from teachers after the lists are posted.

School Supplies

Our district school supply lists can be found on the SVVSD School Supply webpage. These lists are broken down by grade level and are consistent across the district. Many families like to bring the supplies to the Meet the Teacher event on August 15th, but you can also send them in when school starts.

Eagle Crest Before & After School Childcare

Sunrise Stampede 5K

Each year St. Vrain Valley Schools Education Foundation hosts the Sunrise Stampede 5K Run/Walk and 1 Mile Fun Run to support Special Education Teacher Innovation Grants in St. Vrain Valley Schools. This family oriented run/walk is a great kick off to the new school year. Join us on Saturday, August 13th at Silver Creek High School for a morning of fun and connecting with your friends. In 2021, the Education Foundation started the School Spirit Award as a friendly competition amongst the schools in the district. This traveling trophy is awarded to the St. Vrain Valley School with the highest number of registered race participants. Could Eagle Crest receive the trophy for the 2022/2023 school year?
