Dear MacArthur Families,

Welcome to our new students and families! You are officially a MacArthur Mustang now and part of our Mac team. What an amazing start to the school year! I am so thankful for all of our students and their families, along with all of our teachers and staff here at MacArthur. This has probably been one of our smoothest starts to the school year, which is a compliment to everyone for working as a team to do what is best for our students. I would also like to thank all of our various trades that are diligently working to complete our construction project by summer 0f 2024.

As part of the welcoming, our school counselor, Miss Bellamy will be meeting and introducing herself to each student to help with a smooth transition for all our new students. Thank you so much for your patience and cooperation at arrival and dismissal. Each day has improved as students navigate the building and learn procedures this week. Our traffic officer has a few suggestions to help improve car rider dismissal:

• Please use your turn signal when entering and exiting the car rider lot.
• Pull all the way forward once you enter the car rider lot. Avoid leaving large gaps between vehicles.
• Please PAY ATTENTION-cell phones down and eyes forward for the safety of everyone.
• Lastly, make sure your child knows their first and last name AND they respond to it when called.

It has been so wonderful to see all the smiling faces back in our halls! As we move into the first full week of school, I wanted to share a few things to consider that can help your child be as successful as possible this year!

Every year the PTO thinks about new and exciting fundraisers to bring to the school. This year PTO is so happy to introduce the Spirit Blanket Fundraiser which is LIVE NOW! The blankets will be great for those chilly nights at football games, bonfires or for snuggling on the couch - show your school pride and support our school!

Order forms will be going home the first week of school and forms will be available at Open House. You may also check out the designs and order through the link below. This is a great and very profitable fundraiser for our PTO. They will receive 50% profit from each blanket sale!

Blankets should arrive at end of September/beginning of October.

Our always popular Fall Mum & Flower sale is now live! Order forms will be going home in backpacks, if you'd prefer to pay with cash or check. We are accepting cash donations to help fund all of the amazing opportunities that we provide for students, teachers and staff throughout the year. We can't do this without your help! As our district-wide capital improvement projects continue, MacArthur Elementary will temporarily serve only cold lunches. Our food services team remains committed to providing healthy meals that meet all requirements of the federal school lunch guidelines. We will keep you updated on the progress of our new kitchen and the timeline for returning to the traditional lunch menu. Thanks for your understanding as we build new opportunities to better serve our students.
