Field Day 5/10- Volunteers Needed by 5/5
Field Day is just around the corner, Friday, May 10th! The theme this year was inspired by the district's decision to have all junior highs change their colors and mascot to their feeder senior high. So we are going PAWS-itively Wild about Field Day this year! There will be a school wide parade outside at 8:15am and then 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades will do field day events from 9-11am and K, 1st, and 2nd grades will participate from 12-2pm. PTA will purchase each student their own field day t-shirt. We need lots of volunteers to make it all happen. We also have a need to borrow several tents to shade volunteer and students. If you can help volunteers or borrow a tent, please consider signing up by May 5th at

Teacher Appreciation Week Activities, 5/6-10
Our Teachers Make the Whole School Shimmer....
All week long, May 6-10, we will be showing our amazing teachers and staff at Shepard how much we love and appreciate them! Our PTA Hospitality Chair has some wonderful things planned that PTA will be doing as well as some activities for the students to do as well! The calendar for student activities is as follows:
Monday, 5/6- Write teachers a note.
Tuesday, 5/7- Wear teacher's favorite color.
Wednesday, 5/8- Bring teachers flowers.
Thursday, 5/9- Wear pajamas.
Friday, 5/10- Wear your sunglasses.
PTA Hospitality will be gifting teachers and staff all week long and PTA Grade Coordinators have or will be in contact with parents with special gift ideas for each grade level teacher. If you would still like to do something personally this List of Teacher Favorites might be helpful.
Shepard Volunteers Lunch, 5/16
The Shepard Volunteer Luncheon is now rescheduled for Thursday, May 16, 10:30-1:00pm. Shepard loves our volunteers! Our field trips, bulletin boards, and library shelves would just not be the same without your dedication to our campus. If you have volunteered at Shepard in any capacity this school year, please join us for a come-and-go style luncheon in your honor! We would love the chance to share a meal with you and express our gratitude for your service!
Graduating HS Senior Reception, 5/15

Volunteer Opportunities at Shepard!
We have the following volunteer opportunities. We would love your help!
Patriot Patio Sign Up & Lunch Menu
The Patriot Patio is now open for guests to come have lunch with their student. Our Patriot Patio is the area just outside our cafeteria, which we organize with table and chairs for our visitors. We utilize a Sign Up Genius sign up system so that we make sure there is space available. You may sign up for one spot per visitor(or family). When you come to have lunch with your child, please bring your driver's license so we can scan you into our Raptor badge system. All visitors must bring a driver's license to be verified in Raptor. (Remember that you may only have lunch with your child- they may not bring a friend.) We do welcome younger/older siblings for lunch!
Here is the link to sign up! https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0549AEAB2DA4FB6-shepard5
The last (May) lunch menu of the year can be found by clicking the file below. You can add funds to your child's cafeteria account and see the breakfast and lunch menu through the School Cafe website at https://www.schoolcafe.com/pisd or download their app in the app store.

First, our Plano ISD Special Education Spotlight Update (English | Spanish) has been provided to ensure you are informed on current activities and events. In addition, there is information on our Parent Navigator. The Parent Navigator can be found on our department’s website and contains a wealth of information for parents. For questions, please reach out to Bethany Rogers or Sarah Robinson.
