Weekly Newsletter
A Message from Principal Anita O'Neill
October 20, 2024
Dear Coyote Community,
I hope you’re reading this on a relaxing Sunday evening or bright Monday morning after enjoying the beautiful weather. The sunshine has been so invigorating, and it feels like a perfect time to be outdoors.
This week, you'll notice a new format for our newsletter. After receiving feedback about the challenges of viewing content on mobile phones, I’ve worked with couple of parent volunteers
(thank you -- Sharron Saunders and James LaDuca) to make our newsletter more accessible and user-friendly for different stakeholders. Until we fully resolve some issues with mobile viewing, I’ve created "buttons" for various groups. Clicking on a button will take you to a Google document with a clickable table of contents, allowing you to easily navigate to topics of interest. One remaining challenge is the need to scroll horizontally on some screens, and I'm continuing to troubleshoot that. I hope this new approach makes the newsletter a more helpful resource for everyone.
On another note, while most students are consistently wearing their IDs, we still need to ensure that all students comply with this MCPS mandate. Here are a few reminders:
- Wearing IDs is a requirement for all staff and students, and they should be visible throughout the entire day—not just upon arrival.
- Caregivers, please help reinforce this expectation with your children.
- Students who don’t have an ID should visit the Finance Office to get one.
Thank you to everyone for your ongoing support with this effort.
Lastly, a reminder that this is Mental Health Awareness Week, featuring daily theme activities during lunch. (Students, you can find more details under the "student info" button.)
Let’s keep the momentum going and make the most of the exciting week ahead!
Ms. O'Neill
