HCS PiE Newsletter
May 2024
The home stretch is here...
Once April break comes and goes, the rest of the spring seems to fly. Here we are half way through May! We've got a couple more FUNdraisers and events to go- more details below! As we approach the end of the school year, the PiE Steering Committee is looking for a few interested community members to be more involved with the ongoing efforts of the non-profit for the upcoming school year. If this sounds like something you'd like to explore, we'd love to hear from you! Email Kathleen and Jill at hcspiechair@cvsdvt.org, or even better, join us at our next (and last of the school year!) General Meeting:

Let the Good Times Roll!
PiE is partnering with Hinesburg's one and only, Good Times Cafe NEXT WEEK from May 21st-23rd! Good Times will donate 25% of ALL sales during those days back to PiE. There's no limit to how many orders you can place(wink), so mark your calendars and take a night (or two) off in the kitchen!
Hinesburg Community School | Lake Monsters Night *JUNE 8TH*
Tickets available to purchase now through June1st! Don't delay- this game is expected to sell out. You won't want to miss this fun night at the ballpark! The HCS Band will be playing the National Anthem and first pitch is 6:05 (gates open at 5pm) Stick around for the post-game fireworks, too!
Let's try to beat our tickets sales of 500 last year!

Thank you for your donations!
Teacher|Staff appreciation week was plentiful and, not surprisingly, food is the love language of PiE! It turns out many of you are pretty excited to be able to make donations via Venmo now and it showed ahead of teacher appreciation week. PiE received almost $800 in donations, which ALL went toward providing a breakfast spread on Monday morning, some pick-me-up PiE (and other treats) for professional development on Wednesday, and a bagged lunch including sandwiches made with love from Lantman's Market on Friday. HCS Teachers and Staff were so incredibly appreciative of the special treatment!
**UPDATE** HCS Courtyard Garden Revival!
Wow! Kathryn and a handful of other volunteers made so much progress last weekend! If you want to get your hands in the dirt to spruce up the HCS outdoor garden, please sign up here! With the help of a PiE grant received this fall, Kathryn is taking the lead on this sizeable project so that the HCS Community can enjoy plentiful garden beds once again! If you have any questions, you can reach out to Kathryn at kol9@cornell.edu
