Participants are elected to various governmental roles and engage in activities such as legislative sessions, court proceedings, and law enforcement presentations. The program also includes assemblies, bands, chorus, and recreational activities. This year, Maryland Boys State will be held from June 15-21, 2025, at McDaniel College in Westminster, MD
Maryland Girls State: Similarly, Maryland Girls State is sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary and provides female high school juniors with a week-long immersive experience in government and leadership. The program aims to develop leadership skills and a deeper understanding of the democratic process. Maryland Girls State will take place from June 15-20, 2025, at Salisbury University in Salisbury, MD
Both programs are highly selective and offer a unique opportunity for students to develop their leadership skills, gain a better understanding of civic responsibilities, and build lasting friendships.
