IE Venture Network
EVERY THURSDAY SINCE 2011. Pioneering Entrepreneurship.
Venture Network Area 31, October 24th @7pm
Venture Network, an informal weekly pitch slam, is an invaluable resource for early stage entrepreneurs. Venture Network is a forum in which you can engage with the entrepreneurial community, promote your startup, and have the opportunity to pitch before a panel of investors & entrepreneurs. Venture Network is unique in that it is a very informal gathering where startups can meet investors in a casual setting over beers and snacks and focus on what’s important: building relationships. Venture Network is a great way to perfect your pitch, get feedback on your product, and meet the local startup community.
Venture Network's jury this week includes:
Joseph Pistrui, Co-Founder, Kinetic Thinking
Cristina Moyano, Amadeus
The two startups that will present their project in 7 minutes are:
CybEE, Glaxton Robinson - Andrew Kline
Children are connecting to the internet at a younger age than ever before, through an increasing number of platforms and devices. CybEE is a web-based platform providing a comprehensive curriculum for children, covering topics such as; social media management, data privacy, cybersecurity, cyberbullying, and predatory advancement (grooming).
CybEE's curriculum is delivered through fun, interactive games that assist children in forming healthy behaviours towards the internet. Through these games children can better understand the impact of their decisions, both in the short- and long-term, allowing them to explore outcomes in a safe environment, while encouraging conversation within the classroom and at home.
CybEE, further provides resources to both teachers and parents including ongoing discussions through blogs and articles regarding trends about child safety, online. Teachers receive lesson plans tailored and prioritized according to the students' performance during gameplay. While parents receive progress reports, topic guides and other tools. These resources create an ecosystem that empowers the children to best learn how to engage with the internet in a safe and secure manner.
KOTOKAN, Gloria Molins
KOTOKAN is a game where children aged 7-12 years old acquire thinking skills through mathematics.
Recent reports from institutions and companies like the World Economic Forum or McKinsey indicate that for future generations to be prepared they must learn thinking skills, such as problem-solving, information analysis, creative thinking, etc. However, there are no effective frameworks in schools to teach these abilities explicitly, so children are missing out.
This is why we are creating KOTOKAN, where kids learn essential thinking skills through mathematical problems while they enjoy themselves playing. We bring a completely unique approach with a well-designed pedagogical method and we offer a fun journey full of storytelling, milestone awards and gamification.
We target parents who are looking for an enjoyable educational resource that provides their children with skills they will apply anywhere from reading to STEM subjects. We will sell them monthly, quarterly or yearly subscriptions.
