Last year, Keller ended with a 95.9% attendance rate, 3% down from previous years. Let's get our attendance back on track! The attendance goal for this year is 98%!

When a child approaches being chronically absent more than one day per month, they will be placed on an Attendance Plan. The Attendance Plan is to help return your child to school in a manner that is instructionally and socially safe.

The Attendance Plan includes the following:

• Analyze missed days for patterns.
• Partner with the child's family to assist with improving attendance.
• Analyze the accessibility of services needed to help families or improve student attendance.

When your child is absent, please call the main office or enter it on Aspen. Emails do not count toward excused absences. When you call, please let me know your child's name, grade level, reason for absence, and date of return. Per CPS Policy, only the following reasons will qualify for an excused absence: Illness, death of an immediate family member, military-active duty, religious holiday, and family emergency.

This month's LSC Meeting will include the State of the School Address (SOS). The SOS will include information about fundraising, Keller's State Ranking, data, and Continuous Improvement Plan (CIWP) Updates. Additionally, this meeting will be recorded for those that are unable to attend.

• Please be cautious when dropping off and picking up children.
• Please park legally.
• Do not park or wait in cross walks.
• Cars should not speed coming east on 108th street and turning onto Sacramento Ave., as it becomes an un-viewable, therefore becomes a hazardous situation for the many parents and children picking up and dropping off.
• Do not block the intersections. This creates hazardous conditions.
• Students should always exit cars on the curbside.
• Speed around the perimeter of the building, when children are present, should be kept to a minimum of 20 m.p.h.
• When dropping off students, cars should be facing the direction of traffic.

• Levels 6 thru 8- Sacramento Ave.
• NEVER EVER walk in between moving vehicles!

Hello Keller community!

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

We are registered to play in three leagues and would like to give our girls an opportunity to play this year. I have talked to the coordinators of the leagues and have received schedules with game dates and times. Based on what I’ve learned, WE NEED MORE GIRLS IN L3/4, L5/6, and L7/8. The first game is next Tuesday 11/12 and we may be forced to forfeit or cancel.

•L3/4 will play on Tuesdays-15 games (and Thursdays starting in December-14 games)

•L5/6 will play on Wednesdays only-15 games

•L7/8 will play 10 games the entire season (Monday-1, Tuesday-1, Wednesday-3, Thursday-4)

BOYS BASKETBALL

We registered two teams - L5/6 and L7/8. There is still time to register if you want to play in these levels. Uniform order goes in on Monday 11/11. Schedule to be released soon. Coaches will be in contact with the teams soon. There was not enough interest in L3/4 to form a team. Refunds will be sent by Monday 11/11.

Hello Keller Families,

We have a few things to update you on.

1. Our Keller Dines Out is open for orders at Home Run Inn Beverly! Take-N-Bake pizzas and salads can be ordered TODAY through November 13th, for pick up November 18th-20th. Home Run Inn will donate 30% back to Keller on all pre-tax purchases. Spread the word! Family and friends can order too! With the hectic, yet festive, holidays coming up, it makes dinner easy AND helps the PTA. Flyers went home with students this week, but if you need another copy, just click here or click here to go directly to the website.

2. Our winter spirit wear sale is live! We are trying something new by taking all orders on Cheddar Up, even orders being paid with cash or check. By scanning the QR code on the flyer, you will go directly to the catalog of spirit wear items for sale. Near the end of the ordering process, you will be able to choose your form of payment. If you are paying with cash or check, you can send the money to school in a marked bag or envelope. If you choose credit, you can pay online. Because this is a new set up, please don't hesitate to email us with any questions at pta.keller@gmail.com. Orders are due by Monday, November 18th. If you would like a copy of the flyer, click here. *Please note, the QR code on the flyer that went home with students this week doesn't work. We have replaced it with a working QR code, so you should have no problems using this one.
