Weekly Update January 31, 2025
Strive Center for Autism
Winter Illnesses
Thank you all for keeping an eye on symptoms of illness in your children and keeping them home when necessary. We know it is not easy to rearrange plans last minute, but we really appreciate everyone staying home when they have a fever, excessive coughing, excessive nasal discharge, vomiting, or diarreha. Remember that we request that children (and adults!) be 24 hours fever free without medication prior to returning to Strive.
Total Skills Learned in 2024!
The Tree of Possibilities is more than just a logo at Strive Center! We celebrate all the little victories - for every new skill a child learns, we give him a leaf or an apple sticker to put on his very own Tree of Possibilities poster. We keep one poster here at the center, next to his table, and one goes home, so families can celebrate all the little victories too. In November 2024, our learners acquired 205 new skills, and in December they finished the year strong with 212 new skills! That brings our total for 2024 to 2,960 new skills! That is the highest yearly total since we began tracking this in 2021. Take a moment and reflect on all the amazing things your children learned in 2024. We can’t wait to see what 2025 brings!
2025 Updates
Just a friendly reminder reminder that if you have any insurance changes, please update us as soon as possible with a copy of your insurance card. We have begun sending out an updated handbook for you to review, as well as a few other forms that need annual updates for the children. Keep an eye out for those!
Monthly Attendance Reports
This year, we will begin providing monthly attendance reports for families. These are to ensure you are aware of your child's absences and late arrivals. Our attendance policy allows for 12 unexpected absences per year (i.e. calling in when your child is sick.) Your child's BCBA will briefly review your attendance report with you, so you can ask any questions you may have then. We just want to share the information so that you can be aware of your child's attendance. Remember that for planned absences, we prefer that families use the google form to report those at least two weeks in advance.
2025 Calendars Availalbe Now
2025 Calendars are available now! There is a slight difference in the 2 buildings, so be sure to click on the calendar for the building your child attends.
