ROCK'in Weekly Update
Message from Split Rock Elementary School Principal
Our first full week is in the books, and it was a good one! Both staff and students were in the groove, working hard and having fun while doing it. It's wonderful to see everyone's excitement and dedication to making this a productive and successful year.
We were thrilled to have so many families attend our Fall Curriculum/Title I Night. Your participation is an important step toward strengthening the school-home connection. Together, we are all working toward the same goal-helping all student learn and grow at high levels.
Additionally, our Fall Universal Screening is complete. We are excited to dive into the data during our upcoming data meetings with district coaches. This collaboration will set us up for success and allow us to meet the needs of every Wildcat and support their learning through our Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS).
As we continue to focus on safety, we've completed some of our emergency drills and will continue with more next week. Please continue having conversations with your child about the importance of these drills. The safety and well-being of all staff and students is our top priority, and we are committed to ensuring that our Split Rock family feels safe and supported each day.
It is my hope our Split Rockers and families have a wonderful weekend!
BE AWESOME!
Mr. Kimpland

Stay Connected/Daily Routine
Staying connected is key to ensuring a successful school year for our Wildcats. Here are a couple of important ways to stay in the loop:
Check bookbags and folders nightly: Classroom teachers send home valuable information and communication through this method. We don't want you to miss out on any important updates, so please make it a habit to review these each evening.
Get ParentSquare up and running: This platform is essential for receiving regular communication from both the classroom and the building. It’s also where you’ll get time-sensitive messages when needed. If you have any questions or concerns about ParentSquare, please email us at splitrock@westgenesee.org.
Daily Routine: Please be sure to send you child to school each day with a water bottle and a snack. Students also need a change of clothes and sneakers for gym. Also, be sure to LABEL ALL ITEMS, you will be glad you did!
By staying connected, we can ensure a smooth and successful school year for everyone!
