Winter Wishes
Dear Conley Familes,
As we approach this wintery, holiday season, we wish you nothing but joy. Enjoy your time together. Cherish the moments. Take time to rest. Thank you for sharing your students with us, as they are also such a light in our lives. We will so enjoy celebrating this last week before break with your children and working to spread some holiday cheer!
This week, our students are reading a book called Winter Wishes by M.H. Clark. This excerpt captured exactly what I am hoping for all of you.
I'm wishing you moments of joy so complete that it shines in your eyes and it brightens your cheeks...
And letters and presents and hugs from good friends who remind you you're treasured, again and again.
Then, I'm wishing you moments of stillness and rest- quiet time to savor the things you love best.
And a soft sense of wonder in dark wintry nights that makes things feel peaceful and hopeful and right.
Because winter's a season of light in the heart, and you have a spirit that shines like a star...
And the gift that you give just by being yourself is brighter and rarer than anything else.
Thank you for your generous donations to make someone's life brighter. From hundreds of coats, to endless children's toys, your kindness does not go unnoticed and is so appreciated by our staff and the broader community.
Sincerely,
Katie Surjan

Huntley 158 Virtual Bulletin Board
The Huntley 158 Virtual Bulletin Board (VBB) is a way to connect Huntley 158 families with enrichment and educational events and programs in the community. This year, rather than receiving a separate email, families can find these opportunities on the district’s Virtual Bulletin Board webpage in our weekly newsletter. We encourage you to click the link and check out what’s happening for students and families in the community!
To submit a program or event for inclusion on the Huntley 158 VBB, organizations must be not-for-profit or a taxing body based in Huntley 158 boundaries or a surrounding community. Please email your event flyer in PNG or PDF format to kimoore@district158.org and include "VBB" in the subject line. To ensure accessibility for all, flyers must be accompanied by a brief description of your event that includes the name of your event, date, time, location, call to action/website link (if applicable) as well as contact information. Thank you!
