In Kinder 🙂
- Our reading unit will be Holidays and Celebrations. We will be learning why people celebrate= holidays and events. We will continue to practice decoding our CVC words and add our digraph sounds.
- In math we are adding and subtracting numbers to 20 and learning number patterns.
- We continue our unit of Earth in Science.
Hello Fabulous First Grade!
- We are extremely excited about the learning going on in first grade. In reading, we are reading stories and answering questions. We have been learning about Fables and the morals that they teach us. Our favorites so far are "The Boy Who Cried Wolf," and "The Tortoise and the Hare." PLEASE BE AWARE that first grade will be working on more independent reading. This means that for the rest of the year ALL reading tests will not be read to them, and they will have to complete the work and tests independently. Please work with your child on reading and being able to answer questions.
- In math, we are moving into learning strategies on how to add and subtract with numbers from 1 to 100. In science, we are learning about matter. We are working on learning the states of matter and its properties.
- We will be starting "March Madness" to promote learning throughout all the grade levels. YOU can HELP US by making sure that your child arrives to school ON TIME, does not come in tardy AND does not leave early from school. Look for details to come 🙂

During March 3rd grade will
- Be finishing up Unit 7: Communities Then and Now after spring break. Unit 8 is all about weather and climate! We'll be writing research reports about different types of weather.
- In math, we're finishing fractions just before spring break and will start to collect, represent, and interpret data when we get back.
- We're learning all about energy during Science.
- As always, keep encouraging your child to read every night!
In 4th Grade
- ELA Unit 7: Unit 7 focuses Nonfiction text and the Westward Expansion. Students will be working with text features and structure to demonstate understanding of the text. For writing we are focusing both expository and opinion prompts.
In fifth grade,
- students are learning about the American Revolution through the reading and social studies curriculum. Students are examining authors perspective and different essay writings.
- In Science students are learning about Earth's weather and climate with the tools that meteorologist use.
- In math, students are exploring geometry and learning about shapes and their attributes while discovering how to calculate the volume and angles as well. Shortly, we will be diving into data analysis and probability.
