Good evening, Tiger family

I hope everyone is having a sensational Sunday out there in Tigerland! I wanted to take a moment to express my appreciation for everyone who made this week’s events possible through their support for "everything Carroll".

We hosted the regional wrestling tournament for the first time in history here in CCISD and at the Carroll High School Arena! We also hosted the elementary Sweetheart Dance for Luther Jones Elementary. It’s fantastic to have our future Tigers on campus, and it’s wonderful to see our beautiful campus serving as a community center and a hub for great activities within our attendance zone. Looking ahead, we are excited to host Literacy Night on Wednesday, February 12th, and the HOSA conference and competition this weekend. Carroll High School is where it's at!

This week, we also want to celebrate the support staff at Carroll High School. Our support staff and paraeducators play a crucial role in creating the best possible environment for our Tigers. They are such an integral part of our school, and we look forward to honoring them this week during Support Staff Appreciation Week!

Points of Emphasis and Reminders

📢 Bio Mock EOC Testing: Tues Feb 11– A Graduation Requirement! 🎓

Parents, our students will be participating in Mock End-of-Course (EOC) exams this week and over the upcoming weeks to prepare for their official EOC tests, which are required for graduation. These practice tests help identify areas where students need support, ensuring they are fully prepared for success. We encourage you to talk with your child about the importance of these exams and how they impact their path to graduation. Support at home can make a big difference—encourage good study habits, ensure they get plenty of rest, and remind them to take these tests seriously.

🎓🚀 Attention Senior Parents: Ensuring Your Student is CCMR Ready! 🎓🚀

Parents & Guardians,

We are committed to ensuring 100% of our seniors graduate College, Career, or Military Ready (CCMR), and we need your support in this process! In the coming weeks, we will be reaching out to parents of students who are not yet CCMR complete to provide details about new programs and opportunities designed to help them meet this important designation. Our goal is to ensure every senior has a clear path to success after graduation—whether that means 🎓 college enrollment, career certifications, or 🇺🇸 military enlistment.

What You Can Expect:

Direct communication if your student is not yet CCMR complete.
Details on upcoming programs and interventions to support their readiness.
Guidance on how you can help your student stay on track.

More information will be shared soon with specific families. Together, we can ensure every senior is prepared for their next step!

📢 Important Attendance & Tardy Policy Updates 📢

We need your support to ensure students are in class where they belong. To address excessive tardies, absenteeism, and skipping classes, we have implemented a new referral system to hold students accountable for their attendance that will include discipline consequences.

What This Means for Students:

Excessive tardies and unexcused absences will result in disciplinary consequences.
Skipping class will be addressed with escalating consequences.
Students who miss too many days will be denied credit for their courses.

How You Can Help:

Submit doctor’s notes or parent notes promptly to excuse absences
Check your student’s attendance daily using the Home Access Center (HAC).
Reach out for support – Mrs. Ortiz, our Parent Liaison, is available to assist

📚 Calling All Tigers - Volunteers Needed! 📚

We need YOUR help for Carroll Literacy Night on February 12, 2025! This is a fantastic opportunity for:

Seniors: Earn volunteer hours for the CCCCPTA Senior Cord Program.
Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors: Start collecting those valuable volunteer hours!

❄️ Dress Code Reminder: 🧣

A reminder to stay in dress code and know that we are enforcing the dress code. If a student is out of dress code, they will be sent to ISS until a change of clothes can be provided.

Common Violations to Avoid:

No crop tops or midriff-baring shirts (jackets can’t be used to cover them).
No BLANKETS, pajama pants, or slippers.
Shorts, skirts, and dresses must be no more than a dollar bill’s length above the knee.

Parents, did you know that our teachers provide tutoring sduring Tiger Time to help students succeed? This is an incredible opportunity for your child to get the support they need to improve their grades.

If your student has failing grades, there’s no excuse for them not to attend these sessions. Our teachers are here to help, and Tiger Time is the perfect chance to ask questions, get extra practice, and stay on track academically. 💪
