News from Mrs. Beverly
Welcome back to school!
Dear Families,
Thank you for a successful and smooth first few days of school. Our students and staff Classrooms are buzzing with excitement and learning. We have reviewed procedures, practiced fire drills, discussed expectations and had a lot of fun. We love seeing so many smiles.
Bus Schedules: Please be aware that bus schedules may experience some delays during the first few weeks of school as they work to fine-tune routes and ensure everything is running smoothly. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this period.
We have been busy reinforcing our PBIS expectations throughout school. We have been teaching and remodeling how to be respectful, responsible, safe and kind in all areas of our school. Bryn Mawr School will be holding their back to school PBIS assembly this Friday!
If you would like to sign up for the Family Contact Celebration List for your student's classroom, fill out the Google Form below by September 20, 2024. We will not be editing nor adding any additional students / families after this deadline. Information will be collated and shared with those that sign up in a Google Form by the beginning of October.
Yours in education,
Mrs. Beverly
Family Contact Celebration List (Optional Sign Up)- Deadline 9/20/24
If your family would like to opt in for the optional family contact sign up so you have the contact information of classmates for playdates, celebrations and other special events please do so by September 20, 2024. We will collate and share information with those families that have opted to sign up. Lists will be distributed by the beginning of October.
One of the milestones each year for your student is celebrating their birthday! As a school community, we would like to celebrate your student in a special way! Instead of sending in a food treat to the classroom which can exclude students who have allergies or other dietary restrictions, we would like to celebrate with books. Your student can bring in a special school appropriate book to be read to their class. If your family opts to, you can donate the book to your student’s classroom library.
In consideration of the feelings of all of our students, birthday party invitations will not be distributed in school. In the beginning of school, families have the option of adding their contact information to be shared with their student’s classmates.
Family Focus: Establishing Routines
In the hustle and bustle of daily life, consistent routines can be beneficial to students. Routines provide stability, promote independence, and contribute to a positive and productive home and learning environment. Below, you will find the benefits that routines provide and some tips to help you establish and maintain them at home.
Predictability: Routines provide a sense of predictability and security for children. Knowing what to expect helps students reduce anxiety and build a sense of stability.
Time Management: Routines help children learn to manage their time effectively. They learn to prioritize tasks and allocate time for all of their daily activities (homework, chores, sports, play, and screen time).
Independence: Routines help students gradually develop a sense of responsibility and independence because of their predictive nature. They become more capable of managing their daily tasks without constant supervision and reminders because they know what to expect.
Consistency: Consistency in routines fosters good habits. Children thrive on predictability, so keeping routines consistent helps them feel secure.
Morning Routine: A structured morning routine can set a positive tone for the day, and help reduce morning chaos and rush. As you create a routine, think about including getting dressed, eating breakfast, brushing your teeth, and reviewing the day's schedule.
Homework Routine: Allocate a specific time for homework and studying. Create a quiet and organized workspace to minimize distractions, and consider how much time your child needs and when they work best.
Screen Time: Set limits on screen time and designate a specific time for technology use. Think about having your child earn this time based on the completion of other tasks (chores, homework, outdoor time).
Bedtime Routine: A consistent bedtime routine is crucial for a good night's sleep. Include activities like brushing teeth, taking time to wind down, reading, and ensuring everything is laid out for the morning.
Family Time: Dedicate time each day for family activities or discussions. Families are busy, but even a quick meal or conversation on the couch is a great way to bond and stay connected.
Remember that establishing routines takes time and patience, especially at the beginning of the school year. So, be flexible and make adjustments as needed. You will quickly find out how beneficial having routines can be for your whole family!

International Dot Day at Bryn Mawr - September 13, 2025
International Dot Day was inspired by Peter H. Reynolds' book The Dot, which is about a young girl named Vashti who discovers her own creative abilities through the simple act of making a dot. The day encourages creativity, self-expression, and the exploration of artistic potential.
Bryn Mawr School is participating to highlight the importance of creativity and making your mark. Our school community is encouraged to wear polka dots on this day to celebrate on Friday, September 13, 2024!

Dear Auburn Families,
My name is Hunter Osborn, and I'm Auburn's 2024 Project 351 Ambassador.
