Kindergarten Registration
Do you or someone you know have a child who will turn 5 by Aug. 31? If so, it’s almost time to register for kindergarten. Kindergarten registration will begin Monday, March 4, and can be done online from the kindergarten registration webpage. You may also visit any elementary school office in our district between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Remember to Vote by March 12th
Voting is your Super Power!
Presidential Primary Voting Day is 11 days away. Remember to vote by mail (free postage) or in a ballot drop box by Tuesday, March 12! To view the voters' pamphlet, update your voter information, find a drop box and more, please visit the voter registration and ballot management portal.
Year Book Deadline Has Been Extended!
The NEW deadline to order is March 8th.
Yearbooks are $17.00 each.
You can order your yearbook online through KIDS Photography.
If you are not able to order online, you can request an order envelope from the school office.
Or scan the QR code with your phone to be taken to the online order form.
Yearbooks will be delivered to your student the last week of school.

Notes From the Library
The Scholastic Book Fair is an easy and fun way to support our library! Our Spring Book Fair will be coming in April. Keep your eyes on PTA communications through Facebook, on their website and through school communications about volunteer opportunities. Parent volunteers are what make our Book Fairs a success!

Fitness and Health Corner
Let’s talk breakfast. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It powers up your body and brain. It provides energy to move and feeds the brain so that you can concentrate during the school day. Start your day off with a quick and tasty breakfast. Some great ideas are cereal, pancakes, waffles, a breakfast sandwich, or some fruit. No matter what you do, please do not start your day off without energizing your body and brain.
Thank you very much to our students, parents, and community for their support of our annual Kid Heart Challenge fundraiser. Your donations help to fund vital research and educate the public about cardiovascular disease and stroke. Our top collectors were: Tucker (3rd), Madison M. (4th) and Meilyr (5th). Tucker was our top collector!!! Way to go!

Staff Appreciation Dessert Bar - March 14
Help us celebrate Education Support Professionals Week as we honor the amazing staff we have at Columbia! We are looking for donations of snacks/desserts/drinks. Please sign up by clicking this link to bring something if you are able.
Movie Night - March 14th
Please join the Columbia Elementary PTA at movie night on March 14th. We'll be showing The Super Mario Bros Movie. Doors will open at 6:15pm and the movie will start at 6:30pm. Bring a blanket for the floor and wear your coziest clothes to join in the fun. No cost for admission and free popcorn will be handed out. No outside food or beverages but concessions will be available for $1.
An adult must be present for child or children to be admitted. Absolutely no drop-offs.
General Membership Meeting - March 21st
Please attend our March General Membership meeting on Thursday, March 21st @ 7pm on Zoom. The Zoom link will be posted on our PTA website (https://mycolumbiapta.org/) and on our Facebook page. We are looking for volunteers for the 2024-2025 school year and will be finalizing plans for our spring book fair, the May teacher appreciation event and Beach Day!
Popcorn Monday - March 25th
Our next Popcorn Monday will be on Monday, March 25th. The special "ingredient" in our popcorn are the parent/family volunteers. Volunteers are needed to make and handout popcorn during recess. Your kids love seeing you "pop in" to help out. Please sign up here.

Attendance Matters!
If you need to report an absence, tardy or early dismissal, call our 24 hour attendance line at 425-366-2605 or email us!
Please note that teachers do not always have the opportunity to inform the office that your child is going to be absent. Please include office staff on all attendance emails to teachers.
- Early Pick-Up
If your child will be leaving early for the day, families/guardians will need to send a note, email the teacher or call the office on the main line at 425-366-2600. (Avoid calling between 8:45-9:15 AM)
Please do not leave a message on the attendance line. Please avoid picking up during their scheduled lunch, recess or time with specialists, as it may take extra time to retrieve your student.
Only an authorized person may take a child from school. Any student being dismissed prior to the regular dismissal time must be met in the office and the student must be signed out by the parent/guardian or authorized person picking them up.
- Pre-Arranged Absence
Any absence not specifically covered, such as family vacations or other extended absence, must have a Principal approved pre-arranged absence form in order to be excused. This form must be completed and submitted to the school office one week prior to the scheduled absence.
