Harris Elementary School students visit Woonsocket Senior Center
On Thursday, October 31st, students from Mrs. Greco's third grade class visited the Woonsocket Senior Center to enjoy some fall fun! The third graders visit the senior center various times throughout the year and enjoy community building activities together that are both fun and engaging. On this particular trip, the students and seniors members a hot dog lunch together, went trick or treating and enjoyed a special treat of face painting! The students enjoyed hearing stories from members that frequent the community center and it is equally enjoyable for the senior members to engage in conversation with our students. Great job showing the 3 traits of being kind, responsible and safe in the community, Harris Honeybees!
WHS students visit UCONN
The Woonsocket High School Juniors began their college journey with their first college visit to the University of Connecticut (UCONN). The visit began with an information session, discussing high school credits, college application, college life and financial aid. Then proceeded with a campus tour to the recreational center, dorms, student union and the library. The tour ended having lunch on the UCONN campus with college students. The students favorite part of the tour was rubbing the university mascot nose for good luck. Overall, this was a successful informational field trip!
WMS girls soccer team celebrates return to league play
This fall marked the first time Woonsocket Middle School has fielded a girls soccer team in many years. Prior, WMS has had a coed team due to the low number of student-athletes participating. The student-athletes were led by coach Jennifer Polacek in their first year back. The girls showed great sportsmanship on and off the field and had a very successful season. Great job ladies, we are so proud of you!
