Letters From Leadership
August 8, 2024
Dear SVA Families,
In six short days, the halls will once again be filled with learning opportunities and the beautiful sound of students. Our incredible team of professionals is working to prepare their area of the building to receive our community. Yet, there is still so much excitement and preparation ahead of August 14th. Lockers still need chandeliers, school supplies need to be sorted and stacked, and back-to-school photos need to be taken. Below, you will find details for the week of August 12th.
Monday, August 12th, SVA hosts Student Check-in for PreK-12th grade
PS/Grades 1-5 Meet and Greets occur in an Open House Style.
As a kind reminder, PS/ES Teachers will close their doors for a 25-minute lunch break.
Kindergarten Meet and Greets occur by appointment in preparation for our kindergarten soft start.
MS/HS Students will set up lockers and receive schedules.
All school photos will be hosted in the Small Gym.
Students are welcome to wear dress of choice (DOC) for their photos.
Tuesday, August 13th, SVA MS/HS hosts New Student Orientation
SVA MS Orientation will begin at 8 AM and end at 11:30 AM
Please send your student with a hard copy of their schedule.
They will practice navigating the halls, opening lockers, and building early connections to their new peers.
SVA HS Freshman and Transfer Student Orientation will begin at 9 AM and end at 11:00 AM.
HAWKS OUT and PM Dismissal
We will follow the ALL CALL process for dismissal for the first couple of weeks of school.
This will allow students to learn their new spot in the carline process.
It will ensure our new community members familiarize themselves with our dismissal process.
Thank you in advance for viewing this PM Carline Video to ensure we are all familiar with our process.
Use of the ES HAWKS OUT Application will begin on August 26th.
Weather Forecast for the Next 10 Days
The next ten days look like they will provide us with the opportunity to practice our inclement weather process.
You will find information regarding how inclement weather dismissal works HERE.
Thank you for taking the time to review this information as a family.
Our SVA team of staff and faculty look forward to welcoming you to the new school year in just a few short days. In the meantime, soak up every last minute of the slower pace of summer. Remember, you matter!
Honored to Serve You All,
Janet Worley

Bring the Whole Family Together and Vote!
We are just seven days away from the finale of the Colorado Parent Magazine Family Favorites Contest! It's been incredibly humbling to be nominated in not one, not two, but eight categories.
We ask for your support as part of our Hawk Family to help us demonstrate how exceptional SkyView is! You can still vote (every day!) for Best Charter Elementary, Middle, and High School, Best Preschool and Afterschool Program, and Best Charter Elementary, Middle, and High School Principals.
Please visit coloradoparent.com, go to the schooled section, and make sure your voice is heard before the voting window closes. Your actions in the next 10 days could have a significant impact on our outcome!
DID YOU KNOW YOU CAN VOTE EVERYDAY? YOU CAN!
Have You Set Up Your Volunteer Account Yet?
Track It Forward instructions were sent out to all families today. Please make sure to check your email (spam folders included!) for how to sign up. ALL families will need to create a new account. Questions? Contact Allison Caudle at acaudle@svak12.org.
There are many opportunities already available, so please check out the calendar!
